Practice Facilities CGU is proud to announce its new music facility in our recently formed Art and Music building. The Center includes the necessary resources for students to study, practice, and perform music: acoustically isolated practice/rehearsal rooms containing pianos, harpsichords, a fortepiano, and a chamber organ; and a large, smart-classroom that houses keyboard instruments. The integration of the Music and Art departments into one building promotes the sharing of ideas and fosters a spirit of true collaboration.
Rehearse on Period Instruments In addition to more conventional degree programs (Musicology, Performance, Composition), the Department of Music offers degrees in Historical Performance Practices, supported by a large collection of period instruments: ■ Harpsichords ■ Fortepiano ■ Chamber organ ■ Access to a Glatter-Götz/Rosales organ ■ Various string and wind instruments
The CGU Department of Music publishes the longstanding, internationallyrecognized, online journal, Performance Practice Review: scholarship. claremont.edu/ppr/
