SHADOW ANALYSIS;

Through the shadow analysis we can see where the sun and the shade is at what part of the day. As our box park will be geared towards summer when most of the big sporting events are on and when people are most likely to go to outdoor beer gardens.i have done the analysis on the first of June and measured where the sun would be shining on our park in two hour intervals from 10am to 8pm. As you can see by the variety of diagram that when the time gets around 6pm the sun on the main seating area in the centre of the site starts to get a little shaded. So the park must be geared towards day events. Although when the sun goes down it’s only a matter of some outdoor space heaters to keep the guests warm. The site is surrounded by fairly tall buildings which block the sun, although the train tracks to the north of the site is only 2 stores tall, meaning that the site has exposure to the sun for longer later in the day but in the mornings will be in the shade by the surrounding buildings such as the AO office and the residential high rise SW of the site. furthermore, the prevailing win coming predominatly from the west in manchester, the way the site in orentated the guests, depending on where they are, are mainly sheltered from the elements by the shipping containers
