Choosing your stool Stools come in a range of sizes and types to respond to a variety of functions and uses. When choosing a stool, height and measurements are key factors that should be considered to ensure that the furniture is comfortable and functional. Below, we will detail the steps to follow to choose the right height and measurements of a stool.
Location Before choosing the height and measurements of the stool, you must determine in what area of the home or office it will be used and for what specific purpose.
Measurements to take
Surface Width
To find a stool that is the perfect match, you will need to measure the height of the surface, the height of the stool and the length of the surface. Surface Height
Stool Height
To accurately determine your counter or desk’s height, measure from the floor to the underside of the surface. The surface refers to the top of the table, bar, desk or counter. If you intend to add multiple stools to your kitchen, dining room or desk surface, you will need to account for the width of each stool. This is where you measurement of the surface length will come in handy!
250mm
Space between top of stool A minimum of 250mm should be measured and provided between the top of stool seat and the underside of any desk or counter to provide adequate and comfortable space for the user legs.
