BY ALLOWING HIGHER AMOUNTS OF NATURAL LIGHTING INTO THE INTERIORS, STUDENT AS WELL AS INSTRUCTOR PERFORMANCE WILL BE HEIGHTENED. BY CREATING SPACES THAT INTERSECT WITH EACH OTHER, WHETHER INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR, RATHER THAN BEING SECTIONED FROM EACH OTHER, THE INTERIOR BECOMES AN ENVIRONMENT THAT CREATES AN INDOOR/OUTDOOR RELATIONSHIP. TO ENHANCE THIS EFFECT, THE ROOFTOP SPACES ARE A HYBRID EFFORT OF GREEN SPACES AND DELICATE TRANSPARENCIES WHICH FOLLOW THE FORCES OF THE LANDSCAPE AND TOPOGRAPHY. INTERIOR SPACES INTERSECT WHILE REMAINING ADJACENT TO THE EXTERIOR AND SEPARATED BY TRANSPARENCIES IN NUMEROUS WAYS. BY USING THESE TRANSPARENCIES AND VARYING LEVEL CHANGES BETWEEN INTERIORS, THE INTERACTION BECOMES MUCH MORE ACTIVE AND INFLUENTIAL THAN THE CURRENT STRUCTURES ALLOW. THE NEW STRUCTURE DELIVERS MAXIMUM NATURAL LIGHTING WHILE BRINGING A CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO BRUTALIST STYLE.

THESIS : The main issue with the New School of Architecture and Design campus is on a cultural level. This design targets the concern with separation of studio spaces and the means to travel from one to another by proposing a student community inspired design. By introducing a new student community space designed from the idea of a grand hall auditorium, the issues of studio culture will be alleviated.
