design of this performing arts institution with the site submerged in a publicly used common and crowded area involved a lot of ways to seclude the structure from the chaotic atmosphere but still link it with its surroundings-- thus by making a spatial environment inside the building-- by creating a small town, this purpose has been achieved. many spill out spaces are wieved through the space for better interaction amongst the students. the circulation paths to each and every studio crosses each other to increase the sharing of ideas and thoughts amongst the staff and students.

INITIAL CONCEPT
NATIONAL SWIMMING CENTRE Site: Hebbal Lake Side
Location: Bangalore. WHY THE SITE:
LANDUSE
the site is amidst an area where construction is blooming, as Bangalore is developing out radially. In the Vicinity, there are lakes, schools, multi-storeyed residential and commercial complexes, malls, religious establishments, transportation nodes, future scope for a line of metro, military areas.
also a flyoverconnection with the outer and inner ring road, on national highway 7- on the way to the bangalore international airport, empty plots concerning the scope of expansion, medical centres like Columbia Asia, nagavara lake, and all the facilities requires for sustaining an educational and high level SPORTS institution.
SEMESTER X TELSTRA CONCEPT:
A post-tensioned roof was adopted to avoid problems STRUCTURAL CASE STUDY that were likely to be enTELSTRA STADIUM, SYDNEY countered with a more conventional steel roof. A more conventional roof was likely to require every connection node to be propped until the roof was completed. A forest of large props was likely to block sightlines, reducing the seating capacity by roughly 9,000 seats at each end of the stadium during construction. Cranes were likely to have been stationed on the arena, killing off signifi cant areas of turf. A posttensioned roof avoided these potential problems.

the idea of a swimming centre of a national level professionalism, is very personal to me. As a child is born in India, with it comes a whole lot of questions and the hope for the solutions to follow. Very few get to dream, and a small percentage in that gets to pursue and achieve that dream. When i was a child, my parents did everything in their power to bring to me, a proper education and an environment necessary for my emotional and physical development. So i was given the opportunity to follow my dream. The idea of floating enthralled me, and encouraged my interest in water related activities and hence in swimming. Pursuing this sport religiously for 8 years, didn’t give me what i had aspired of, and i ended up disappointed. Was their something missing from my parent’s side? No, they did the best they could. Was their something lacking in my efforts? No, i spent 8 hours of my day in the pool. Then what didn’t let me get ahead? The facilities, the Coaching and the support from any organization. this organization is for the youth of this country, who believe in themselves and are looking for a pedestal to fulfil their dreams and of their country- the perfect mix of
training, facilities and care.

SITE NH7
The site is locate along the hebbal lake. The land slopes at a few places by about 1’ maximum. its 4.5 acres in area, covered with a layer of green. Its surroundings include; A lake, Flyover, Mall, and military area. The location is very promising for a National level center for sports as the connectivity to the Airport as well as the local transport hubs is good. Being away from the crowded core of Bangalore, still well connected to the city, it becomes a promising location for a complex dedicated to swimming. The lake not only gives an aesthetic appeal to the project, it also maintains the proper water table required and maybe used in need for the pool facilities after filteration and purification. It brings the Architecture of this complex to a whole new level.
