MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT

Designing an urban community of “mixed use multi storied residential and commercial development” in the proposed site considering the specific urban context .The development shall adhere to the regulations stipulated by the chennai metropolitan development authority The design should evolve understanding the housing demand, market study and analysis, climate , cost effective technologies in construction, climate responsive and energy audit

The site is located in kalapatti adjacent to kalapatti main road which is well connected to avinashi road [national highway]. it is a blooming locality for a mixed use development as it is surrounded by commercial and industrial area . the site is also in close proximity with coimbatore international airport and provides an easy commute and benificiar for hospitality ,commercial and industrial zone.

The given site was approximately 15 acres which was located in a dense urban area surrounded by IT parks and real estate development

The site is divided into three zones office ,commercial and residential .The public space are situated closer to the access road and the semi private and private farther into site.

The internal roads connect all the zones .The site has two entry one for the public buildings and other for the private spaces andthese roads are accessible by fire vehicle and minimum width of all internal roads is 7 meters.

The builtup area of the site is divided according to the user needs of the neighborhood.The residential towers is designed to accomodate users of all income group

OFFICE BLOCK

The buiiltup area is split into workspace and core area .The service core runs in the centre which makes easy access to other spaces.

Each floor has a green space that allows the user to engage with outdoor environment and these open spaces collects rain water on each level and it is then stored in the tank or can be used to recharge the ground water table. It also allows passive cooling into the building

The form is rotated 30 degree inwards to trap the wind and reduce the sun exposure on the envelope of the building.

Each corresponding floor is rotated another 5 degree for every level. Therefore looks as if the floor is been floating

TYPICAL FLOOR TYPES

Through this form the building is self shaded ,the concave floor layout does not allow direct sunlight into the building .Thus maintains indoor air temperature cool and reduces the energy load of the building.this will make the building sustainable and energy efficient and also maintaining the thermal comfort for the users inside the building.

INTERNATIONAL PERFUME HUB

The aim is to develop an industrial hub that would provide a space for manufacturing, research, development and market space for the jasmine vendors. It is an integrated space involving farmers, professionals and research students to collaborate and share ideas for sustainable development of the perfume industry.

The site is located in Mattuthavani, near Mattuthavani bus stand, Madurai. The site is located in proximity to the flower market and mattuthavani bus stand as farmers from various villages bring their produce in the bus to the flower market.The site is bordered by national highway melur main road as it facilitates public easy accessibility. The rear end of the site adjoins vandiyur lake which is one of the largest lake in madurai which allows for lake front development and tourism development in madurai city.

The site has split into private and public zones which involves factory, museum, market, institution and retail.

THE CUBE HOUSE

This cube house is designed to accomodate a family of four with two adults and two kids. it runs along an open floor plan which is separated by formal and informal spaces. the cube house gives an illustion of stalking different cubes and gives an unique facade.

INTERNSHIP WORKS

During the internship program i was able work in varoius architectural, interior and landscape project. this collective work contains detail drawing, masterplan, interior detail drawing, interior renders, facade render and landscape design and also had hands-on experience in architecture as well as collaborating with team members on various architecture projects.
