2nd Quarter Fire Training

The Chandler Fire Training Division would like to thank crews for their diligence in completing the modified second quarter training within their own districts. We know these are trying times for crews. Fire Training is grateful for your ability to adapt and appreciate your professionalism to make training work.

Upcoming Fire Training

We are excited to kick off a new quarter of training! It is time for the Save Your Own drills, again. This time we have the benefit of training in the climate controlled environment of the new training building. When crews arrive at training, they will be kept separate, completing stations that are at least 30 feet apart. Equipment used during training will be decontaminated between each use to ensure crews safety. After our first week of this training, the feedback we have received is very positive.

New Aerial Apparatus

With having three new ladder trucks in our fleet, the Training Division developed some videos and in-person training to assist our members. The crews of L2810 each came down and went through familiarization training led by Engineers Lopez and Underwood, learning all the ins & outs of the trucks. CFD also hosted the apparatus vendor who provided a familiarization session for all CFD engineers and acting engineers. To refresh all our engineers on the particulars with operating a larger apparatus, the training division created a video to reinforce the fundamentals of driving larger apparatus.
