The Newsletter from The Farmer’s Champion Welcome to the 56th edition of the Chandlers Bugle his 56th issue of the Bugle is again packed with our used items for sale, for agriculture, horticulture and vehicles. Our stock is constantly changing, so if you don’t see what you are looking for, check our website www.chandlersfe.co.uk , where the information is continually refreshed with new arrivals. Huge investment is being put into engine technology to meet the new emission requirements. From 1st January 2011 all engines over 130kw (174 hp) have had to meet stage 3B regulations and from 1st January 2012 engines over 75kw (100 hp) also have to comply to the European standard. The good news is that aspects of the development have a payback in increased fuel efficiency. One such being SCR and the use of Adblue. To find out more about Adblue and SCR technologies visit www.chandlersfe.co.uk/AdBlue.htm . Precision guidance is another very important step towards improved efficiency, saving fuel, time and reducing input costs in all areas of the working cycle. To provide a comprehensive range of equipment to suit all needs we have invested in an RTK correction network covering our agricultural trading area in conjunction with Leica. This will provide a cost effective, high accuracy, auto steering solution to suit all ranges of tractors, combines and sprayers. Our RTK correction network is compatible with a number of other makes of steering equipment in the market place, contact your area sales representative for details of how you could benefit.

Fendt launched the new 700 SCR range of tractors at Cereals 2011, with hp ranging from 200 to 240. These models are the most fuel efficient tractors available, and incorporate an all new cab for superb driver comfort. They also have a very high power to weight ratio, making them ideal tractors for top work, spraying and potato harvesting. Available for demonstration this autumn. The class leading Mitsubishi L200 continues to outsell all other 4 x 4 pickups, most variants are in stock and available from Horncastle and Belton. Ssangyong will introduce the all new Korando early in September. This new vehicle will compete head on with the Nissan Qashqai and the Mitsubishi ASX, also offering automatic transmission with all wheel drive, and prices starting from £16,995 on the road. Kubota M series tractors 65-130 hp are ideal for general farm duties, being very competitively priced, and they come with 3 year warranty as standard. These tractors feature a standard gearbox for simple everyday use. There is a 0% finance scheme available and we currently have available in stock an M108 fitted with a VHS vegetable rig. New to Chandlers are the Pellenc range of battery powered garden hand tools. These incorporate a back pack lithium battery allowing the interchangeable hand tools, hedge cutters, strimmers, chainsaws and pruners to be light and very low vibration in a quiet, fume free environment. This is also a very economical fuel supply and will last a full days work on a charge.

Using Wood Chippers on a daily occurrence is vital for my business and as my old chipper was ready for a change I was looking into a large market options for a newer machine.

After a few demos and show attendances I chose the GreenMech Quadtrak160. The performance power from such a small engine is quite unbelievable, having a three cylinder turbo Kubota engine; it can take much larger and awkward material than machines of its size.

The spout can also be rotated 270 degrees, so there isnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t any place where the chip cannot be fired! It will also work on a 30 degree slope with the machines tipping bed. The difference between this machine and others like it was that whilst being a tracked machine the specially made trailer also allows us to perform jobs as a

road towable machine.

Being just under a ton it was one of the lightest tracked machines on the market. As we bring in quite alot of green waste material the saleable

value is vital to me, the chip from the GreenMech is much more consistent than our old chipper. All in all a robust well built machine.
