concept concept :: “FLIGHT OF A BIRD” The concept was to create a abstraction of the flight of a bird into the design of the main superstructure of the project. The roof profile was designed in such a way that it resembles the flight of a bird. And also tried to create a glimpse of badami by using the locally available materials, by designing a space for local craftmams which can be the platform to exhibit city’s talent.

INTRODUCTION TO [ZONE 1]

The land covering 4 acres with ]good green cover houses a bungalow owned by four brothers, presently front portion of bungalow transformed into office used on yearly basis for meeting purpose whereas rear portion is used by the watchman and his family. PROBLEMS: • The land is undeveloped, there is no proper connectivity as its boundaries on either side consist of Nala and commercial buildings .The only connectivity is through the Havelock road which is even hindered as the public transport facility is located there • Built on many layers of the past, the city is in serious urban transformation that came hand in hand with a wave of economic prosperity. The city is presently being challenged by a fast urbanization, which raises the issue of lack of Urban voids- Squares, parks, pedestrian area etc.

[Unused land analysis] SECTION BB’

POTENTIAL:

The location enables a network of economic, social and cultural encounters. And as it is located along the arterial road, for through as well as urban traffic, the vacant land has much potential to formulate program such as: •Public squares •To improvise parking facilities •Good sanitary facilities •Public information office for the tourists. •Improving public transport facility hence solving traffic congestion etc.

[ TRAFFIC ANALYSIS]

Daily varation of traffic composition and volume in no. of vehicles::

2.2 RADDI SAMUDAY BHAVAN

Belgaum

Client : Raddi Sang, Belgaum Location : Sadashivnagar Main Road, Belgaum Area : 425 Sqm Project status : Ongoing Typology : Commercial Scope of work : Concept development, designing, presentation drawings, corporation drawings, 3D Visualization, client meetings, site visits, working drawings. Project demand : Raddi Group wanted a space for their community functions, meetings, get together which takes place very often. Addition to that revenue generator for the community. So we came up with idea of having a commercial space at the G & G+1 floor as it is in the prime location of the city, community hall in G+2 and remaining two floors will be ladies hostels.

Phase I : Building with G +4 floors was made to utilize the maximum utilisation of the Far, due to that there couldn’t be done any play with the form to achieve an interesting elevation.

Phase II : To break the monotony of the elevation and to protect the building from the direct sun which will hit the building, an external screening was introduced.

Phase II : The skin which get introduced gave an unique and complete look to the building by breaking that earlier monotony.

FURNITURE DESIGN FOR FISHING COMMUNITY Brief: Living a comfortable life has been one of the core requirements in human civilization. With this initiative of providing “comfort” designing a furniture with “minimal & affordable”, for the people under fishing occupation was the task. The furniture needs to be a daily companion of a fisherman community which can fulfill there daytoday comfort needs e.g . sitting, resting etc.

Seater

Process: 1. The furniture needs to be multifunctional, so that it can be used for various purposes. 2. To achieve simplicity and affordibility we thought of using tyres and ropes which are abundantly available in the community, and with this the littering materials can be reused without costing a single penny to make a needful product.
