1940년 창립한 추계예술대학교는 교육이 애국, 애족, 구국의 길이며 독립의 기초라는 건학 이념을 실천해온 예술교육의 산실입니다. 우리는 지금까지 예술로 인류에 봉사하는 교양인을 양성하고 풍요로운 세계 문화의 발전과 공존에 기여하고자 하는 창립정신과 교육 철학을 면면히 지켜왔습니다. 무엇보다도 예술이 지닌 창의성과 다양성이 인간적 삶을 구성하는 중요한 요소라는 점을 일찍이 인식하고, 각자의 영역에서 탁월한 성 취를 이루어낸 예술가를 배출해 왔습니다. 지성(至誠), 창조(創造), 순화(醇化)의 가르침은 실용성만을 강조한 사고방식에서 벗어나 우 리가 속한 사회의 풍경과 인간적 삶을 더욱 풍요롭게 하는데 초점을 두고 있습니다. 우리의 삶은 우리가 물려받은 문화예술을 애써 보 존하고 가꾸는 다양한 활동으로 풍성해 질 것입니다. 추계예술대학교는 지금까지 지켜온 교육 이념을 창조적으로 계승하고, 균형 있는 교육과 미래 예술가의 활동을 지원하면서, 세계문화유산의 보존과 발전에 기여하겠습니다. Founded in 1940, Chugye University for the Arts as the cradle of art education has been practicing its foundingphilosophy which sees education as the means to serve and save our country and our people, as well as the foundation of our country’s independence. Our school has ceaselesslyadhered to the founding spirit and educational philosophy aiming to nurture the cultured who serve mankind through art, and also contribute to the development and coexistence of a global culture of abundance. Above all, the early recognition of art’s creativity and diversity as significant factors of a humane life has led us to turn out artists who have made remarkable achievements in their respective fields. The educational activities offered in the department assists students in understanding the spirit and artistry of Korean traditional music as they work on their performance skills in various fields of Korean traditional music. With the goal to inherit the extraordinary heritage of Korean art in the most advanced manner, students are encouraged to choose a secondary instrument as their minor to broaden their multi-instrumental skills and creativity through sessions in orchestral music,ensemble, chamber music and folk instrumental music.

Department of Voice 이론과 무대 능력을 겸비한 전문 성악인 육성 Training Professional Singers with a Well-Balanced Foundation in Theory and Stage Presentation 음악 기초 이론, 언어훈련, 무대 현장 실습, 개인 지도 중심의 실기 교육을 통하여 무대 적응력을 갖춘 전문 성악인을 양성합니다. 전공 실기를 예술가곡과 오페라로 세분화하여 각자의 개성과 능력에 적절한 실기 지도를 실시하고 실제 무대 경험을 습득할 수 있도록 오페라 공연, 과목별 클래스 발표회, 마스터 클래스 및 특강 등을 진행합니다. The department’s practical education based on basic music theory, speech and language training, practical stage training and individual tutoring is designed to help students become stage savvy professional singers. The practical training course is divided into Aria and Opera to provide the proper tutoring as per style and level of talent for each student, while actual stage training is offered through opera performances, class recitals per major, master classes and guest lectures.chamber music and folk instrumental music.

교육행사 Educational Activities 오페라 공연(격년) 1981년 마스카니의 오페라 <카발레리아 루스티카나>를 시작으로 2년에 1편씩 유명한 오페라를 제 작, 공연하는 행사로 모든 학생이 참여합니다. 극중 주요 배역을 공개 선발하며 합창, 오케스트라, 연기, 무용 등이 어우러지는 종합 예술의 산 교육현장을 체험하게 함으로써 무대 적응력을 키워 훌륭한 공연자를 양성하고 대학 오페라 활성화에 선두 역할을 하고 있습니다.

Opera Performances(Biannual) Since the department presented its first performance of Mascagni’s opera,stageperformance experience whether it is solo, in an ensemble or orchestra.“CavalleriaRusticana” in 1981, all students have beenencouraged to produce and perform one majoropera every other year. Main casts selected through an open audition take part in a total performing arts experience consisting of choir, orchestra, acting and dance. And through this stage-adaptable educational program, the school has stood at the forefront of promoting university opera culture.

가곡과 아리아의 밤 성악을 전공하는 2~4학년 학생들을 대상으로 공개 선발을 거쳐 그동안 학습한 것을 공연하는 연주회로, 1978년부터 해마다 공연하는 행사입니다. 학생들의 실기능력 향상과 실제 무대 경험 을 키울 수 있도록 매 학기 공연을 펼치고 있습니다.

Night of Melodies and Arias Since 1978, this annual concert has been offered to second to fourth year students who are cast through an open audition to demonstrate their academic accomplishments. With the goal of skill-improvement and promoting stage experience, this concert will continue to be held each semester.

Department of Piano 실기와 이론의 조화를 통한 실력 있는 연주가 양성 Training Outstanding Performing Musicians with a Well-Balanced Foundation in Theory and Performance 실기 위주의 수업과 다양한 피아노 이론 연구를 통해 실력 있는 연주가를 양성합 니다. 개인 위주의 실기 지도뿐만 아니라 국내외 저명 교수를 초빙하여 학생 전원 이 참여하는 피아노 워크숍, 특강, 연주를 통해 고도의 기량을 연마합니다. 오디션을 통한 다양한 연주 기회를 부여하며 국내외 저명한 피아노 캠프 및 실내 악 워크숍에 참여합니다. The department’s practical performance-based courses and a variety of theoretical studies on piano are designed to train outstanding performing musicians. In addition to the practice-based individual tutoring courses, open piano workshops inviting prominent local or international guest lecturers who participate in special lectures and performances are offered to assist students into sharpening their skills. Auditions areopen to all students seeking opportunities to perform along with the chance to participate in piano campsand chamber workshops held at home and abroad.

Department of Orchestral Instruments 실내악, 관·현악 합주, 오케스트라를 통한 앙상블 교육 Offering Ensemble Education through Chamber Music, Wind·string orchestra and orchestra 각 악기의 기초교육과 실내악, 합주, 오케스트라를 통한 앙상블 교육으로 기술을 연마하여 우수한 연주가를 양성하며 부단한 연주 수업으로 독주자의 자질 함양은 물론 교향악 단원, 음악교육자로 활약할 자질을 갖춘 음악인을 양성합니다. 국내외 저명 교수를 초빙하여 마스터 클래스를 통한 및 실기능력 향상 및 담당 교수와의 1:1 실기 레슨을 실시하여 고동의 기량을 연마합니다. 기성 오케스트라 입단을 준비할 수 있도록 현악 클래스와 관악 클래스로 나누어 초견곡과 오디션곡을 집중 훈련합니다. 개인 리사이틀을 장려하여 학기 중이나 학기말에 공개 연주회로 많은 학생에게 연주 기회를 제공해 줍니다. The educational activities offered in the department assist students to polish skills and become outstanding performers through combined programs consisting of basic musical instrument education and practical courses of chamber music, ensemble and orchestra, and to train musicians who can move into the professional fields of solo and orchestral performance, and music education. Prominent professors from Korea and abroad are invited for master classes to inspire students to improve their practical skills while intensive 1:1 training sessions to raise the caliber of student capacity are also offered. In addition, classes divided into string and wind will help students prepare themselves for professional orchestras with courses that focus on sight-reading and auditioning pieces. During or at the end of a semester, students are encouraged to hold solo recitals as part of the school’s goal to give as many students the opportunity to perform in public.

Orchestra Concert As the main orchestral concert of the Orchestral Instruments Department, first year to fourth year students have the opportunity to display how much they have achieved through their training, while also acquiring the musical experience necessary for working in professional orchestras.

관악 정기연주회 관악기만의 앙상블을 통하여 새로운 음악의 경험을 쌓고 금관의 웅장함, 목관의 섬세함, 타악기 의 신명 나는 리듬이 하나가 되는 음악을 접합니다.

Wind Ensemble Concert An ensemble purely comprised of wind instruments provides a unique musical experience that reflects the harmonious collaboration of the brass’ magnificence, the woodwinds’ subtleness and the percussions exciting rhythms.

실내악 연주회 2인 이상 10인 이하의 소규모 편성으로 구성된 실내악을 통하여 오케스트라 등 대편성의 앙상 블에서는 경험할 수 없는 음악과 앙상블을 학습합니다.

Chamber Music Concert A small-scaled group of chamber music players consisting of 2 to 10 members experience music and an ensemble that cannot be obtained in large-scaled ensembles including orchestras.

Department of Composition 전통과 현대를 아우르는 독창적인 작곡가 양성 Training Creative Composers who can Embrace the Traditional and the Contemporary 개인별 작품 지도는 물론 음악형식론, 화성학, 대위법, 현대 작곡 기법 등 다양한 교과와 실습을 통해 학생 각자의 고유한 어법을 지닌 작곡가를 양성합니다. 전통음악에서부터 현대음악에 이르는 모든 음악이론과, 이를 바탕으로 한 새로운 미학적·양식적·기술적 실습을 제공하여 시대정신에 입각한 새로운 작품을 창작하도록 합니다. 밀도 있는 컴퓨터 음악 교육 및 작품 제작을 통해 컴퓨터를 활용한 새로운 음악 언어의 확대를 실습하며, 미디어아트, 인터랙티브 아트와 같은 개념을 연구합니다. 작곡가 연구 프로그램의 일환으로 특강을 개최하여 학생들의 창작 의욕을 고취하 고, 각자의 음악 어법을 넓히도록 지도합니다. With the department’s diverse curriculum and practical exercises including individual lessons, courses in musical form, harmonics and counterpoint theories, and contemporary composition techniques, students are trained to become composers with their own unique style. Music theory courses spanning the traditional to the contemporary, and practical training in the latest aesthetics, style, and technique based on such theories are offered to inspire students to create new works pertinent to the current era. Through in-depth computer music education and creating composition works, students can practically expand their realm of musical language by means of computerized technology to explore concepts of media art and interactive art. As a part of the Composer Research Program, special lectures are held to build students’ enthusiasm for creative works and broaden their own musical language.

The department’s individual training-based curriculum offering students to exercise various techniques in traditional and contemporary art as well as professional theories are designed to encourage students to strive to become artists who can pave the way for new traditions in Korean art. In its endeavor to set the right path for Korean painting, the department offers substantial and efficient courses including comparative studies in Oriental and Western art as well as developing new painting materials. Students are also encouraged to participate in after-school activities at the studio, exhibition hall (Modern Arts Space C21) and computer center. In addition to required main courses, other practical activities to strengthen diverse and comprehensive artistic abilities are computer drawing, printmaking, photography and visual art.

Department of Film Writing 영상산업을 이끄는 스토리텔러 양성 Fostering Storytellers who would be the Driving Forces of the Film and Media Industry 극영화 시나리오의 기획, 아이템 선정, 취재 및 자료 수집, 조사 구성에서 대본 작업에 이르는 단계별로 심화되는 현장 지향의 실습수업을 통해 실무 능력을 개발하도록 합니다. 극영화, 다큐멘터리, 방송, 광고 등 기존 영상매체 외에 멀티미디어, 애니메이션, 게임 등 뉴 미디어 시대의 도래에 따른 새로운 방향성을 제시하기 위하여 다양한 현장실습 및 답사 프로그램을 운영합니다. The department encourages students to develop working-level capabilities through progressive practical and intensive courses spanning the general fields of scriptwriting from script development, choosing a subject matter, research, investigation and structuring collected materials to writing a screenplay. Chugye University for the Arts Broadcasting System CABS’ develops and produces radio programs covering a variety of interesting stories related to cultural art contents including artists, books and films accompanied by music which is broadcast on campus. 현직 초·중등 교사, 2급 정교사 교원자격증 소지자를 위한 전공과정으로, 교사들이 학교 현장에서 학생들에게 국악의 기 초 이론 및 국악 전반에 걸친 실기를 직접 지도할 수 있는 능력을 향상시키는 것을 목표로 합니다. This specialization program is designed to heighten teaching skills for elementary to middle school teachers and those with a second-level teacher’s license in basic KoreanTraditional Music theory and practical training in all fields of Korean Traditional Music.

국악인, 국악교육 강사, 문화예술정책, 국악공연기획 등 국악 관련 전문가를 양성하기 위한 교육과정으로, 학사학위 및 이 에 준하는 학위 소지자 이상의 국악 전공자와 국악 관련 경험자는 물론 국악을 배우고자 하는 비전공자도 입학할 수 있 습니다. 실기교육 중심의 교육과정이 운영되며 기초적인 국악이론은 물론 다양한 미디어 또는 공연기획 등에 관련된 커 리큘럼을 운영합니다. This program aims to train professionals in Korean Traditional Music including Korean Traditional Music performing artists, Korean Traditional Music education lecturers, culture and art policy specialists and those in Korean Traditional Music performance curatorial practice. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent academic degree in Korean Traditional Music or have experience in this field as well as any non-major person desiring to learn Korean Tradition Music is eligible to apply. The practical education-oriented program offers a curriculum focusing on basic Korean Traditional Music theory as well as diverse media and art performance curatorial practice.

어진 총 660㎡ 규모의 전시장입니다. 각종 기획전, 공모전, 해외교류전 등 기성의 전시형식은 물론 미술 프로젝트, 교육, 강연, 기획, 자료수집 등 광범위한 예술행사를 종합적으로 수용함으로써 기성 갤러리와 차별화된 대안 미술공간으로 발전 해 나아가고 있습니다. 작품 발표의 기회를 확대하고 예술 관련 행사를 지원하기 위한 대관운영도 진행합니다. The gallery is a two-story building with an area of 660㎡, which opened in 2012 with the purpose of introducing a variety of art works and supporting related activities. By accommodating a wide range of art events including conventional exhibitions such asproject exhibits, contest exhibits and overseas exchange exhibits, art projects, art training sessions, lectures, art curatorial sessions, material collecting sessions, etc, this place has been expanding into an alternative art space that sets itself apart from other conventional galleries. The gallery is available for rent to increasethe opportunity to display more artworks, and to support art-related events.

리사이틀홀 Recital Hall

2011년 완공한 창조관 지하 1층에 자리 잡고 있으며, 장애인 3석을 포함한 257석의 객석을 갖추고 있습니다. The recital hall is located on the basement level of the Changjokwan(CreativeHall) which was completed in 2011. It has a seating capacity of 257including 3 seats for the disabled.

Answering the Call for Future-Oriented Dancing Talents With the goal to encourage dancers with no limits to genre, and who have wide perspective, this department offers a diverse range of education from fine arts dance to street and stage dance. In addition, the department assists students to acquire a wide scope of options that can help them choose from the constantly diversifying dance field by gaining job diversity througt the practical training and performance production classes in both dance and related contents it provides.

New Courses Fine Arts Dance (Korean Dance, Contemporary Dance, Ballet) Street Dance (Locking, Waacking, Popping, Hip-Hop, Girlish, Choreography, House, Krumping B-Boy ect.) Stage Dance (Jazz Dance, Dancesport, Belly Dance etc.)

Special Benefits An annual Dance Contest with a scholarship award is offered to students. Dance battles for Street Dance majors are held for the purpose of skill improvement and mutual exchange. Basic Training required for dance-related contents production is offered through the Performance Production Project during the second-half of the year. Practical DJing Training Program offered to Street Dance majors. Opportunities to hold off-campus performances and organize on-campus performances with outside guests are offered in collaboration with professional parties. Rich Imaginative and Creativity, Leaders of the New Media Era To keep up with the growth and convergence of popular culture and art, and the audiovisual media industry, and to distinguish itself from the Department of Film,Theater and Television, the Department of Performing Arts has opened a new broadcasting entertainment-related course. Unlike the Department of Film, Theater and Television which focuses on training stage and film acting talents, the Department of Performing Arts provides intensive courses designed to train diverse talents demanded in the current new media contents industry. The department aims to educate a wide-range of professionals in theater, film and TV drama, broadcasting newscasters and emcees, models(commercial print and on-camera, fashion), comedians, and VJs by offering systematic courses in key audiovisual production fields including cinematography, music and editing

수묵과정 소개

Ink Wash Painting Course

수묵화는 한지에 모필의 선과 묵의 번짐을 이용하여 인물, 산수, 화조 등을 그리는 그림이다. 따라서, 매체의 특성상 오랜 습득의 과정을 필요로 한다. 수목화반에서는 인물, 산수, 화조를 위주로 각자의 개성과 취향에 맞추어 기초에서 그림 속에 담겨진 사유까 지 이론과 실기를 동시에 강의합니다. 수묵과정 : 매주 목요일(10:00~13:00) 3시간 인물과 산수화를 중심으로 수묵화에 담겨진 동양 미학의 의미를 알아보고 새로운 회화 창작 유도

Ink Wash Painting is brush painting ink on ‘hanji(Korean traditional handmade paper)’ using brushstrokes and ink flow to paint figures, landscapes, flowers and birds. Therefore, the nature of this art requires a long-term process of mastering the technique. The Ink Wash Painting course offers practical and theoretical classes focusing on figure, landscape and flower and bird painting from basic painting coursework to understanding the reasoning behind Ink Wash Paintings. About the Chugye Jaedam Webtoon Academy The ‘Chugye Jaedam Webtoon Academy’ recognizes webtoons as the most digital device-optimized comic contents, and offers specialized classes in collaboration with Korea’s largest webtoon production company, ‘Jaedam’ with the goal to incubate potential webtoon artists. A working professional webtoon artist will be assigned to each course to instruct professional skills and conduct practical production training workshops that will encourage students to complete professional-level works.
