Level of landform

Use the concept to design new free-form clay shapes. There is a concave arc to help capture the sediment that floats along the Mae Klong River to add to the river bank, which is a habitat for aquatic animals and riverbank ecosystems and the distance between the embankments, each vehicle has sizes that are not the same according to the type of plants grown to aid in water treatment.

Sediment trapping

It uses the idea of duplicating the form of a river to force the current to flow in the direction of the embankment into the area and using the curvature of the embankment to help it extend to trap more sediment.

Water management

Use the area between the embankments to collect and treat water, with each pond having different depths according to the type of plants used for treatment. Will collect water during high tide and close the floodgate to store water for treatment before releasing it into agricultural areas.

Thung Setthi Fort is an archaeological site that has been around since the Sukhothai period. It is a fortress with beautiful architecture in European style that has been regarded as a world heritage site. But now it has been abandoned and has not been taken care of. It is an idea to improve by bringing in archaeological processes to help design it as both a tourist attraction and learning area for both visitors and as a rest area for the locals. There is also a network of nearby ancient sites that have been neglected as historical tourist routes and a tram network to connect the ancient sites with the city to make it easy and convenient to access.

SITE POTENTIAL STRONGHOLD

• It is a star fortress built with Western technology. Which will only be built at key strategic points. It is valuable both in terms of history and ancient sites.

• The environment surrounding the project still maintains the height around the ancient site quite well making the sunset scenery clear.

LEVEL

EASY ACCESS

• The level inside the Thung Setthi Fortress was 3 meters lower than the road level create an interesting scenery Able to play level in design

• Highway 101 is the main road connecting the provinces. Able to develop areas to support irregular users. • Project on the main road Easily visible and accessible.

Spy point : A learning resource for both visitors and people in the community.

• Develop public areas for the surrounding communities. It also helps to promote the potential of the area and attract tourists. • Offer to buy land on the side to create a public area for additional service users.

• Power lines and electric poles encroach on the site, affecting views and safety. Therefore, it was proposed to move the electric pole indirectly to the back of the area.

• Buildings higher than 6 m. within 50 meters of the ancient sites affect the scenery. Therefore proposed to purchase land and demolish the building to dispose of the scenery is not beautiful

• Drive community-to-community and area connections, or connect tourist attractions in provinces to drive accessibility. Promote the well-being of people in the community

07 ASOKARAM TEMPLE - RESTORATION ECOLOGICAL MANGROOVE

ASOKARAM TEMPLE Asokaram temple is a large temple like the center of the community. Special is that the temple area is located at the mouth of the Chao Phraya river and adjacent to the mangrove forest. Later, a cloister was built in the mangrove forest, making this temple unique unlike anywhere else. But in the following years, the city began to epand. There are industrial factories which reduce the green area and forest area, together with the construction of concrete dams to protect the coast. Causing the mangrove forest area outside the dam and in the dam to not connect to each other with water trapped inside and turning into sewage. Animals cannot go out to find food. Nowadays, advanced technology has made people begin to distance themselves from religion and in the future, coastal erosion and rising water levels affect temples. Therefore, the main idea is to make the temple area to be the center of the community that people of all ages use, not only practice dharma for monk but also a learning area for everyone like in the past. Revive mangrove forest areas and ecosystems, solve problems by using ecological techniques and develop to help maintain temples remain.

Father Lee, having spent time at Isipat Maruekhathaiyawan Forest, Varanasi, saw the pagoda and stupa built by King Ashoka in disrepair. So he thought of building a pagoda to replace it in Thailand.

While meditating at Wat Khao Phra Ngam, Lop Buri, said that a strange sound was heard on the head like rain and saw the image of Ashoka falling. Therefore, the name of King Asoka was given to the name of the temple “Asokaram”.

The area of Wat Asokaram, formerly known as “Na Mae Khao”, the landowners, Mrs. Kimhong, and Mr. Sumet Kraikarn, offered land (formerly a rice field) to Father Lee to build the temple with an area of approximately 52 rai.

Building a pavilion (Sala of Luang Pho Songtham) in traditional Thai style in the central region.

Luang Por Lee initiated the celebration of the 25th Buddhist Century. In this work, 6 Buddha images were built.
