Discovery Kids Puterbug Computer Camp - NEW!

Ages 3-7 years Are you ready for a week of virtual travel adventure? We are going to exotic locations - including Microchip Mountain, Great Wireless Reef, Satellite City, Digital Desert - where need your help solving Discovery Kids Puterbug “missions”. As the technology revolution continues to unfold and the new wave of digital learning is swiftly becoming a reality, tech education is an important component of children’s academic success. This dynamic camp will feature early learners, developing skills in keyboarding, use of function keys/touchpad/mouse, creative problem solving, school readiness, Common Core Curriculum, STEM initiatives and Internet safety - while having loads of fun! “Unplugged” activities will balance and enhance the screen time, expanding the learning process. Strider Learn to Ride a Bike Camp

Ages 3-5 years The goal of the STRIDER Camp is to provide a solid foundation of balance and the ability to stride. Riding a bike is a major milestone and Strider Camp will provide the tools to teach your child to ride on two wheels. STRIDER™ No-Pedal Balance Bikes were developed specifically to help toddlers and young children of all abilities to learn balance and coordination BEFORE pedaling. The simple, no-pedal design allows even the youngest children to learn to ride a bike, avoiding tricycle tip-overs and training wheel wobbles, and instilling considerable confidence and stellar bike handling skills sure to last a lifetime. STRIDER™ No-Pedal Balance Bikes encourage the development of spatial awareness, balance and basic motor skills so that all children can reach their maximum riding potential faster, better and safer. Grades K-5th Minecraft® is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine. At night monsters come out, make sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the world of Minecraft® with LEGO® Bricks in this fun STEM engineering class! Kids will start by crafting their shelters and some of the mobs, critters and tools using LEGO® Bricks. Students will face new challenges each of the three days, building models and crafting key elements from the popular Minecraft® game. Grades K-5th Making it move is the name of the game at this exciting camp! Kids will love to see their creations in motion using LEGO® wireless remote controls. Each class, students will use fascinating and challenging LEGO® components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions, machines and more. As they enjoy the fun of building, campers will understand the basic working principles of many ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives. Students will also learn how to magnify, diminish and redirect force to move objects at different speeds and in different directions. Grades K-5th Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime? Put on your hiking boots and camouflage… you’re about to enter LEGO® Jurassic Land! Campers will build a world that comes to life with gentle Brontosaurus, ferocious Velociraptor, terrifying T.Rex, and more. We’ll learn about amazing dinosaurs that lived during the Jurassic period, and other extinct, prehistoric animals that roamed the earth and swam the seas during that era and millions of years later. Grades 1st-5th for 2016-2017 school year Camp Heritage is a fun filled, all day, five days a week, camp. Campers will be outside and play different games, participate in crafts, go to the pool and take a field trip once a week. The cost of the field trip is included in the fee. Field trips are not optional. If your child is in attendance on the day of the field trip, he/she will attend the trip. Your child will participate in all of the same activities as the five day a week campers. Your child must attend the same three days for the entire tthree week session. Grades 6th-8th for 2016-2017 school year You will have the opportunity to work on developing leadership skills, responsibility, new experiences and personal achievement. In Teen Camp you will be an important part of making decisions on games, activities, crafts and more. You may go for long bike rides, go fishing, grill out for lunch, go to Community Park and more. Teen Camp participants will also receive a 10% discount on the Friday Teen Trips that are held during the weeks that the teen is registered for. Friday Teen Trips can be found in the Summer/Fall Program & Service Guide. Come have all your questions about Camp Heritage and Teen Camp answered, meet our Camp Supervisors, learn all about what you and your child can expect this summer and learn what we need from you to ensure a fun summer for everyone! All parents/guardians that have registered or are considering registering their child for either camp program should attend this meeting. Camp Staff

A qualified adult director supervises each camp session. Counselors at each session are a mixture of adults, and enthusiastic college and high school students. All staff complete a training program and are certified in fir1st aid and CPR and each counselor carries a first aid kit at all times.

Weekly Fee if on Register for Camp Heritage and Teen Camp 1 Camp & Residency Status Payment Plan of 2 convenient ways! Camp Heritage Resident (3 wks) $100 1) Register on a per session or weekly basis by the Thursday of the week prior to the session beginning. 2) Sign up for the entire summer of Camp Heritage or Teen Camp before June 1 and you’ll have the option of being put on an automatic weekly payment plan charged to your debit or credit card and you will be able to predetermine a one week vacation period that your child will not attend camp that you will not be charged for. (Teen Camp 2 and Camp Heritage 3 Days participants do not qualify for 1 week free vacation, but may still do the weekly payments)

Keyboard, Coding, & Computer Camps - NEW!

The technology revolution continues to unfold and the wave of digital learning is a reality. Knowing how to use computers as tools (not just toys) is a key component of core curriculum. Young learners need to know keyboarding, functionality and coding to be ready to embrace their upcoming academic challenges. Students will be 1:1 on the provided netbook computers and a comprehensive progress report sent home to parents. Camp content will be age/grade specific. You do not want to miss this valuable new offering to our programs!

Welcome to Italy

Hello from Italia. Cheeses, breads, pasta, pizza: favorites of Italian cuisine. We are preparing recipes that make your mouth water and your taste buds sing. Date: July 25-28

Bakeshop Favs

Learn to bake like the pros! We will make fresh breads to cookies, cakes and more. Each day we will learn new baking techniques from creaming butter and sugar for butter cookies to kneading dough for sticky cinnamon buns. Get out the rolling pins and let the baking begin. Date: August 1-4

StagePlay: Musical Theater for Kids! - NEW!

Unlike the “olden days”, when fun was dependent of whatever was readily available, so much of today’s youth leisure time is spent staying connection through technology. What would happen if suddenly all that went away? “A Kid’s Life” will explore that possibility and that’s where the fun and music all begin! The StagePlay program also incorporates valuable life lessons such as teamwork, commitment, conquering fear, being prepared, confidence and theater etiquette. On the last day of camp, our talented young stars perform for friends and family, showing off all that they have learned in only one week. Jedi Training Camp - NEW!

Grades 4th-7th Is the force strong with you? This Jedi-themed summer camp for boys and girls will train young recruits how to become a true Jedi. Wilderness Explorers Camp - NEW! Zombie Survival Camp

Grades 4th-6th for 2016-2017 school year Hone your survival skills to prepare for 21st century disaster in this 3 day camp for adventurous kids! You’ll learn to build a shelter, find your way in the wilderness, and assemble the necessary tools to survive any situation. On the last day, you will test your zombie survival skills with a water gun war of humans vs. zombies. Pre-registration is required and all participants must sign the Zombie Survival Camp waiver before the first day of camp. Experienced Boy Scouts Wanted: If you are looking for a fun volunteer opportunity this summer we have just the camp for you! We are looking for Zombie Survival Camp Captains to help lead our zombie survivalist into the wilderness. Grades 4th-7th In this nature based camp, we’ll teach outdoor navigation skills, appreciation for nature, and cooperation, through hiking, nature exploration, outdoor play, crafts, and games. We’ll learn about survival skills, reading maps discuss water and fire safety and more! After each learned objective, each participate will receive a pin for each activity! An extra waiver is required to be filled out for this camp. *Optional Kayak trip is available to wilderness explorers. T.L.C- Teen Leadership Camp

The Walking Dead

Ages 12-14 years Are you too old to participate in Zombie Survival Camp but still want to be a part of the fun? Then join us as of one of the walking dead! Come dressed in outdoor attire and we’ll prepare you for the epic zombies vs. human’s battle. Zombies will participate in water gun battle and will have their faces painted. Grades 7th-12th for 2016-2017 school year Teen Leadership Camp will invest towards developing teens to be true leaders, build self-confidence, and empower them to inspire the same in others. During this unique camp we will meet with leaders in the community, work on fun team building activities and most importantly we will participate in community service projects from start to finish. This camp will allow teens to make a change in the community by volunteering at local food pantries, and other local non-for-profit organizations. During this 4 week camp teens will volunteer in the community, meet with local community leaders, and discuss leadership skills and team building. This leadership camp is a great way for Junior High and High School students to complete community service hours for clubs, build self-confidence, and give them opportunity to do something great in the community. Please dress in appropriate clothing for working outdoors and bring a sack lunch. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and a participation letter at the end of camp. Chicago White Sox Baseball Summer Camp

Ages 5-12 years For the Little Sluggers (5-6 years old) the beginner program is open to boys and girls and is designed to introduce this age group to the game of baseball. Our intermediate camp (ages 7-8) includes fundamental skills work on throwing, hitting, bunting, fielding, pitching, and base running. Fundamentals will be reinforced by using fun skill games. The White Sox Summer Camp for ages 9-12 builds upon the basics and is just the ticket to advance your game to the next level. Depending on the skill level of the players, we will touch on advanced hitting and throwing techniques, as well as team play, advanced base running and other techniques that could be used on the field to help you stand out! On the final day all players will get the opportunity to judge their improvement by playing a game. Skyhawk’s Flag Football Camp

Ages 5-6 years & 7-12 years Skyhawks flag football is the perfect program for your young athletes who want a complete introduction to America’s Game or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our ‘skill of the day’ campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning - all presented in a fun & positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!
