Strider Learn to Ride a Bike Camp

Ages 3-5 years (30-44” tall) The goal of the STRIDER Camp is to provide a solid foundation of balance and the ability to stride. Riding a bike is a major milestone and Strider camp will provide the tools to teach your child to ride on two wheels. STRIDER™ No-Pedal Balance Bikes were developed specifically to help toddlers and young children of all abilities to learn balance and coordination BEFORE pedaling. The simple, no-pedal design allows even the youngest children to learn to ride a bike, avoiding tricycle tip-overs and training wheel wobbles, and instilling considerable confidence and stellar bike handling skills sure to last a lifetime. STRIDER™ No-Pedal Balance Bikes encourage the development of spatial awareness, balance and basic motor skills so that all children can reach their maximum riding potential faster, better and safer. You will be able to take your bike home to continue to practice the skills learned. There will be a $120 bike deposit secured on first day of class. Discovery Kids Puterbug Computer Camp

Ages 3-7 years Are you ready for a week of virtual travel adventure? We are going to exotic locations - including Microchip Mountain, Great Wireless Reef, Satellite City, Digital Desert - where need your help solving Discovery Kids Puterbug “missions”. As the technology revolution continues to unfold and the new wave of digital learning is swiftly becoming a reality, tech education is an important component of children’s academic success. Camp Creativity and Innovation - NEW!

Please join use for a dynamic week of exciting creativity, innovation and fun! Camp Creativity and Invention will be an age-appropriate, hands (and body)-on challenge to a camper’s logical thinking skills. Indoor and outdoor activities will be both individual and team building, including STEM activities such as the Tomato Smasher, Marshmallow Launcher, building an obstacle course and NEW programming the OZOBOT robots! The technology revolution continues to unfold and the wave of digital learning is a reality. Knowing how to use computers as tools (not just toys) is a key component of core curriculum. Young learners need to know keyboarding, functionality and coding to be ready to embrace their upcoming academic challenges. Students will be 1:1 on the provided netbook computers and a comprehensive progress report sent home to parents. Camp content will be age/grade specific. You do not want to miss this valuable new offering to our programs!

Summer Vacation - NEW!

Grades 6th-8th (2017-2018 school year) In addition to learning basic acting and performing skills, we will also learn theater terminology and stage directions. We will also be working on a hilarious short production entitled Summer Vacation. In true musical theater fashion, we will sing and dance to fun songs and gain confidence in performing on stage in front of an audience. Grade K (2017-2018 school year) KinderKamp is a fun filled five day a week camp especially designed for students enter Kindergarten. Campers will spend their summers playing games outside, making new friends, participating in arts and crafts, listening to music and more. Campers will split their time between inside and outside activities. You can also attend camp three days per week, your child will participate in all of the fun as the 5 day a week campers. Your child must attend the same three days for the entire three week session. Camp Heritage

Grades 1st-5th (2017-2018 school year) Camp Heritage is a fun filled, all day, five days a week, camp. Campers will be outside and play different games, participate in crafts, go to the pool and take a field trip once a week. The cost of the field trip is included in the fee. Field trips are not optional. If your child is in attendance on the day of the field trip, he/she will attend the trip. Teen Camp - Expanded Grades!

Grades 6th-8th & Grades 9th-10th (2017-2018 school year) Teen Camp offers the opportunity to work on developing leadership skills, responsibility, and new experiences and personal achievement. In Teen Camp you will be an important part of making decisions on games, activities, crafts and more. You may go for long bike rides, go fishing, grill out for lunch and more! This year 6th-8th grade and 9th10th grade will be divided into two groups. Teen Camp participants will also receive a 10% discount on the Friday Teen Trips that are held during the weeks that the teen is registered for. Camp Staff

A qualified adult director supervises each camp session. Counselors at each session are a mixture of adults, and enthusiastic college and high school students. All staff complete a training program and are certified in first aid and CPR and each counselor carries a first aid kit at all times.

Chicago Fire Soccer Camp

Ages 2-16 years Do you love the game of soccer and want to continue to better your game while working with the best of the best? Are you new to the sport of Soccer and want to come see what it’s all about? This camp is for you! Come join the professional coaches of the Chicago Fire to develop skills in ball mastery, passing & receiving, and shooting & finishing! This camp will also focus on teamwork, social skills, and good sportsmanship! Scott Slocum’s Summer Shoot Out

Grades 1st-6th (2017-2018 school year) This program is offered for boys and girls from 1st grade through 3rd grade and 4th -6th grade. Skyhawk’s Tiny Hawk Camp

Ages 3-4 years The essentials of soccer and/or basketball are introduced in a fun and safe environment with lots of encouragement. Campers must be between 42 and 48 months of age and toilet trained in order to participate. Children will learn balance, body movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development through a series of sport-specific games tailored to their attention spans. Our staff is trained to handle the specific needs of these young athletes. The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 10:1. All campers will receive a t-shirt and a merit award! Using our progressional curriculum and focusing on the whole player, we teach your child the skills needed both on and off the court to be a better athlete. Our basketball staff will focus on respect, teamwork, and responsibility, starting each day with a “skill of the day” and progressing into drills and games. Ages 4-12 years Skyhawks Baseball takes the rich history of the game from Cooperstown to your town. Local Skyhawks staff uses our progressional curriculum to teach the fundamentals of fielding, catching, throwing, hitting, and base running, all in a fun, positive environment. Specifically designed for beginning and intermediate players, this camp teaches all athletes new baseball skills along with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and responsibility. Skyhawk’s Lacrosse Camp

Ages 7-14 years Suit up and find out why lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. Lacrosse combines the basic skills used in soccer, basketball, and hockey into one fast-paced, high-scoring game. Athletes will learn all the fundamentals of stick handling, cradling, passing, and shooting in a fun, non-checking environment. Our staff helps campers learn not only the sport of lacrosse, but also important life skills such as respect, teamwork, and discipline. Skyhawks Lacrosse ensures that every athlete will come away with a deep understanding of the game and its traditions. The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 12:1. Skyhawk’s Flag Football Camp

Ages 5-12 years Skyhawks Flag Football is the perfect program for young athletes who want a complete introduction to “America’s Game” or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our “skill of the day” activities, campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning – all presented in a fun and positive environment. Skyhawks Flag Football is recommended for beginning to intermediate athletes. The week ends with the Skyhawks Super Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron! Skyhawk’s Track and Field Camp

Ages 7-14 years Skyhawks Track & Field was developed to introduce young athletes to this sport rich in tradition and history. These programs combine technical development and fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, our staff teach exercises and drills that prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track & field events, and distance running while inspiring a love for running and being active. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques are covered in this unique program. Jedi Training Camp

Grades 4th-7th Is the force strong with you? This Jedi-themed summer camp for boys and girls will train young recruits how to become a true Jedi. We’ll create our own light saber, condition for battles and improve skills needed to graduate this training camp. Teambuilding and leadership activities will also be included in this camp. Wilderness Explorers Camp Grades 4th-7th

In this nature based camp, we’ll teach outdoor navigation skills, appreciation for nature, and cooperation, through hiking, nature exploration, outdoor play, crafts, and games. We’ll learn about survival skills, reading maps discuss water and fire safety and more! After each learned objective, each participate will receive a pin for each activity! T.L.C- Teen Leadership Camp

Grades 7th-12th (2017-2018 school year) Teen Leadership Camp will invest towards developing teens to be true leaders, build self-confidence, and empower them to inspire the same in others. During this unique camp we will meet with leaders in the community, work on fun team building activities and most importantly we will participate in community service projects from start to finish. This camp will allow teens to make a change in the community by volunteering at local food pantries, and other local non-for-profit organizations. During this 4 week camp teens will volunteer in the community, meet with local community leaders, and discuss leadership skills and team building. This leadership camp is a great way for Junior High and High School students to complete community service hours for clubs, build self-confidence, and give them opportunity to do something great in the community. Please dress in appropriate clothing for working outdoors and bring a sack lunch. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and a participation letter at the end of camp. Hone your survival skills to prepare for 21st century disaster in this 3 day camp for adventurous kids! You’ll learn to build a shelter, find your way in the wilderness, and assemble the necessary tools to survive any situation. On the last day, you will test your zombie survival skills with a water gun war of humans vs. zombies. Pre-registration is required and all participants must sign the Zombie Survival Camp waiver before the first day of camp.
