THESIS PROJECT AT FRANKLIN PARK, WASHINGTON D.C., U.S.A. A microclimate is a confined set of atmospheric conditions which can pass on to areas as small as a few square feet. We are facing the problems of climate change which will increase the threats of extreme weather. For the people who live outdoor the consequences of these problems are dangerous. An example is the situation of hypothermia and hyperthermia which involve the balancing between body’s heat production and heat loss. This thesis can be a typical design strategy to apply to another location concerned about human and environmental sustainability in order to improve environmental climate, social/cultural connection, and quality of life. As a social dynamics issue, according to local Washington D.C. research sources, by observing and talking to the general public, it was found that the average person has a biased perception of the homeless, stating that they strongly smell of alcohol and dirty appearance. Private property is one of many reasons why people become and remain homelessness. They can create their own invisible territories by using their belonging for instance a big backpack, shopping cart and public benches. The investigation in micro-human scale came up with a couple of issues relating to physical health which were thermal reactions based on material surface and thermal regulation in human body that are the effect of a biological ground surface on the human body and a hardscape surface on the human body. It also researched and analyzed the environmental heat loss and gain as well as shows tactics used to dissipate heat which have human thermal applications. Second is mental health that looks at the issue of brain chemistry factors associated with mental health and activities. This design proposal creates subspaces with a larger framework rather than a multi-use common area. These subspaces deal with different community needs rather than remain to a “one-size-fits-all” attitude. The design used tactics including: low curvilinear stone walls, topographic changes and a variety of paving materials which are concrete, asphalt, grass and turf grass blocks.

ADAPTIVE REUSE PROJECT AT LA PETITE CEINTURE, PARIS, FRANCE The renovation of Le Petite Ceinture represents the first step towards the macro green connection which is circular linear space connect a couple huge green areas as well as clusters many scattered green spaces together. The second step creates the potential to serve the people living in estates along the entire length of the abandoned railway by transforming this area to parks, recreational areas and community gardening. The concept of renovation is providing easy movement through spaces in difference activities such as walker, runner and cyclist. The strategies of this project are come up with circulation, level and vegetation. According the physically condition in Paris, there are many topographic and climate changes and also difference in elevation are going on around the city. Through renovation of this project is inspired by using multi-layers, separation of pathway in different speed levels and moisture changes. The weaving interchange is the name of this project which focuses about crossing the flow in different users and activities in multi level. The interchange of plants along this project that a mix of woodland, mossland, grasslands, small fruit and vegetable farm and meadow.

L I V I N G W I T H WA T E R 2 0 5 0 U LT R A F L O O D P L A I N RESEARCH PROJECT, AYUTHAYA PROVINCE, THAILAND
In 2011 Thailand, Flood catastrophe was the wake up call for Thai to re-look at how we shall live in the future with water which increasingly affecting the way of life as well as our economic activity. This city planning is finding the new possibility of how modern Thai society can live with water in the next 50 years of Ayutthaya city and Chaophraya flood plain. Physical design alone is unable to solve this problem due to the complexity of the issue and magnitude in which it creates to all walks of life in the society. The necessity solutions which can solve the problems in the long term require social dialogue with the people who were effected, flexible to adapt with the local context and the economy benefit. Green economy is an economic development model which sustainability is achieved economic development goes hand in hand with environment and social development. In order to realized this model we need to change our attitude in looking at nature not as a resource, we consume but rather a natural capital which need to be maintained as much as physical or human capital In the context of Ayutthaya, we need to re-look at water not as a threat but an economic opportunity .After all Ayutthaya has always been the land of water by nature. Thai people in older time realize and accept this special characteristic of the area, hence they made use of water in food production ,logistic and settlement. In our proposal, agricultural land area is the main key to effective water management for Ayutthaya and Chaophraya river basin. The design strategy is to transform the existing irrigation network which covers 70 % of the whole province to become water detention network. To operate and construct the network successfully, government shall provide financial support and know how to each community group to manage their own water detention area by applying natural capital concept. The success of this economic model will eventually spread out to other nearby communities and will progressively form a network that can contribute to water management at macro scale.

NEW EMERALD NECKLACE “energy park” PRODUCTIVE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE PROJECT AT SOUTH BOSTON, MA, USA Throughout Boston, parks are linked by parkways and waterways in Boston which begin at the western continue through to the border of financial district. After the Big Dig, Boston has developed the infrastructure and built more green spaces. However, each green spaces have different purposed and not clustered. In development period, I am connecting the parks as located within the western through the south of Boston. Green spaces will be connected and become to be a multi-functional network of green spaces across the south part of Boston. There are two key components to this project ‘s strategies which are confederation green infrastructure, energy efficiency which means carbon reduction and renewable energy. This energy park can solve the problem of green house effect. Using the strategies of renewable energy resources which can provide electricity back to the city.

private classroom (sunken area)
The revitalization of this public area as RISD farm transforms it into a neighborhood destination through the integration of diversified classrooms and vegetation. This proposal presents this space as a cultural pocket park that adopted native planting and sculptural landform to enhance activity of local life.
small classroom (gathering area)
The pocket park is created adjacent to the existing main parking lots that most visitors access to RISD farm by personal cars and accessible from the north side of farm. The appearance of sculptural landform, which almost integrates with existing parking lots can lead their perception when they arrive to the farm. The arrival area have two spots, First spot is adjacent to parking lots that can lead people walk pass through a spatial of plants in eye level.This spatial will bring visitors to transition space before go to auditorium. A second spot does next to exist massing forest, this area will be created to colorful mounds, which contrast with existing forest color as green. The second arrival spot will lead people to studio classroom, which there are semi-private spaces beneath dominate canopy trees as embracing by sub-canopy trees. The visitors will gain to benefit of steepness by mounds, which these provide hangout spaces on top of the hill for view out to the Narragansettbay and also walk up to highest point of the mounds to get different experiences.

LIFE@LARDPRAO18 CONDOMINIUM GARDEN, BANGKOK, THAIAND
The project is situated on the busy Ladprao Road - a typical congested road in Bangkok. The front garden being adjacent to the road acts as a buffer space before reaching the residential tower. We envision a forest-like setting to offset noise and pollution and yet pleasing for functional use such as strolling and lounging for this transitional space. Strong quilt-like graphic is employed to reorganise fragments of diverse shade tolerant understorey plants below canopy of mixed forest trees transforming wild forest pattern into botanic pattern. Diversities of plants are contrasting in colour, form and texture bringing about a complex yet serene beauty while at the same time enriching the ecology at large. Network of gentle sloping path weaves through these interplaying green envelop which protruded as raised tectonic plate conveys a sense of exploration and discovery. Eye level height mounds in which private niches and seats are nestled enfold this space to cutoff visual connection to the adjacent shophouse and internal road enhancing its tranquility. The residential tower is topped with the sky deck offering 180 degree view of Bangkok horizon featuring full facilities for individual, couple and friends. Trio Diagonal Cabanas by the infinity edge Lap Pool emerges from a forest background providing a rare private lounging experience while sunken Sunset Lounge on the opposite side provides an outdoor living room setting for a small group of fiends. The design aims to delivers not only an aesthetically pleasing garden but a true sanctuary for urban dwelling.
