Architectural News By: Jason Eldridge Chapel Glen neighborhood has many covenants and restrictions that are typical of associations across the state. These covenants and restrictions are in place to keep the neighborhood appearance appealing and unique to surrounding areas. Each homeowner must do their part to abide by the rules and keep the Glen a desirable location for years to come. This month the Chapel Glen architectural committee highlights the requirements found in section H. The full covenants and restrictions can be found in each homeowners neighborhood directory. All building and structures must be submitted to Chapel Glen Architectural Committee, comprised of neighborhood residents, for approval. Preventing waste is a great kindness.

CRIME WATCH MEETING Our next Crime Watch meeting will be Monday, January 26, 2015, at 6:00 P.M. at the Clubhouse. Paula Barnes, Crime Watch Specialist for the Southwest District, Indianapolis Police Department, will be our guest speaker. Barnes will explain how we can create our Crime Watch Committee for Chapel Glen. If you are unable to attend, please contact Nancy Emans at nemans@sbcglobal.net. Our Security Officers will be at our next meeting in February to answer any questions arising from this meeting and inform us on how we can continue to make our homes and families safe. I hope to see you at this Crime Watch Meeting on Jan 26th. For those who cannot attend, I will try to get a note out to you about our meeting and what is happening with the Crime Watch Committee!! Nancy J. Emans

Reminders: ♦

When it snows, please pull all cars into your driveway to allow snowplows to clean off the our streets and your car doesn’t get hit!

Do not leave your car running in the driveway to warm it up in the morning. Cars are still being stolen.

Please check to make sure your windows are latched & doors locked so no one can get into your home!

Leave outdoor lights on at night or install motion detector lights. 3

Greenbelt News By: Bob Eddleman

Another Reason to ‘Adopt a Patch” With the increased concern about home invasions, removing patches of invasive plants in the Glen is one way to get rid of potential hiding spots for intruders. The pictures below were all taken in the Greenbelt behind homes and along sidewalks. The three invasives that provide the best hiding places are Bush Honeysuckle, Burning Bush and Multiflora Rose. The winter picture taken January 8th shows that a person standing still is also difficult to see. So “Adopting a Patch” would be a great community service project and would mostly likely meet school requirements for service hours.
