ART DIRECTION

As a product developer I was responsible for providing art direction on all of my products, interfacing with designers, illustrators, photographers, and advertising. Here I’ve provided some examples of comments on designs. I am trained to sweat the small stuff, search out the smallest details and keep products on brand - but also to deliver comments with compassion and be fun to work with when the pressure is on and the deadline is coming up. Don’t take my word for this - check my LinkedIn profile for references!

VISUAL DEVELOPMENT

The above is an example of a project where I created the initial rough sketch and design brief, and provided art direction to an external illustrator who completed the approved concept sketch, our internal 2D/3D design team, sourcing, advertising, the web development department and the manufacturer, maintaining the desired overall look and quality assurance along the way.

PRODUCT ILLUSTRATION & DEVELOPMENT

When I left my full-time position at Bradford Exchange, I continued working with the team on a freelance basis. Working with loose design briefs, or from my own knowledge of the company’s successful products, I created product renderings for the team’s concept development meetings. This example shows my product development process, using two rings I had previously developed for the company combined to make a new mother’s ring.

DIGITAL 2.5D PRODUCT RENDERING

Here’s an example where the developer had already done a sketchbut needed a presentable product rendering to show details.
