BOOK GER PROJECT Who run Book Ger project? The Book Ger Project was set up by Go Help in partnership with the Mongolian Education Alliance on the 1st of June 2010. The purpose of the Book Ger is to provide children with a space to read in their spare time and interact with each other and in doing so encourage their interest in books and improve their literacy skills. There are many different books on offer including many toys and games with most of them being donated. In the long term, we are aiming to reduce school dropout rates in the Ger district community.
Target groups Our most important target group is the local students. Children of all ages can come and use the Book Ger for reading, completing their homework and playing games. There are also 3 to 5 local children who volunteer to work at the Book Ger. The second is a group of local people who are retired and also stay-at-home mothers. They will be able to use the Book Ger for reading, socialising and other activities such as knitting clubs. Parents of the children who use the Book Ger are welcome to come along.
