JAMES COOPER As Executive Director of Information Technology for Kaplan Legal Education, Cooper is responsible for continuous development and expansion of the KLE online education platform. Previously, he served as Chief Information Officer at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Cooper received the Cox Business Exemplary Award at the 2011 Top Tech Exec Event.
JIM HASKIN Haskin is currently Executive Vice President of CRM services at Levementum. Over the course of a 20-year career in IT leadership roles, Haskin has built a track record of building teams that deliver real business results using CRM and cloud technology, most recently as a Salesforce.com Alliance Partner. He was an Information Technology Executive of the Year Honoree in 2009.
STEVE ROMEO A passionate IT leader, Romeo is the Executive Technologist for Breg, a Carlsbad medical device manufacturer. Romeo has been awarded the CIO 100 for developing innovative technology, was named one of Computerworld’s Premiere 100 IT Leaders, and sits on the board of directors for Cal State San Marcos’ MIS Department. He was an Information Technology Executive of the Year Honoree in 2008.
Judges DANA DI FERDINANDO—JUDGING CHAIR Di Ferdinando, Chief Information Officer at Arena Pharmaceuticals, is responsible for coordinating and managing its multimillion-dollar global IT portfolio and services. She has more than 25 years of experience in management, engineering, analysis, and implementation of solutions for life sciences and technology companies. She was a 2009 Information Technology Executive of the Year Honoree and has judged Top Tech from 2010 to 2013.

BRUCE CAROTHERS Carothers is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at AMN Healthcare, where he is responsible for all its technology solutions. Carothers previously served in leadership roles for venture-backed technology firms including Alitum, Motiva Software, RightAngle Systems, and 4GT. He currently sits on the board of several technology firms in San Diego. Carothers served as a Top Tech Exec judge in 2012 as well.
RICH COPPA Coppa serves as Vice President of Infrastructure & Facilities/Chief Information Officer at The Arc of San Diego, where he is responsible for the oversight of the information technology, facilities/maintenance, and vehicle departments. Coppa has invested 18 years of service designing into implementing a state-of-the-art infrastructure there. He was named the 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree for the Charitable Organization category.
JESSIE DALY With more than 25 years in the information technology field, Daly, the Executive Director of Information Technology at Isis Pharmaceuticals, has a wealth of experience, including application design and development, program management, infrastructure, data center design, and voice, data, and network systems implementation. She is known for quickly grasping the big picture of large, complex IT projects. In 2012, she received the Cox Business Exemplary Award at the Top Tech Exec event.
JOHN MERRITT—JUDGING CO-CHAIR For the past 20 years, Merritt has served the YMCA of San Diego County. In his role of Chief Information Officer, he is responsible for tactical and strategic technology operations to drive business value in support of the YMCA mission. In 2011, he was named a Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Charitable Organizations category.

Computing and Telecommunications at UCSD. She is responsible for leading the development of central IT applications for campuswide initiatives. Her department has received multiple Larry Sautter Awards for IT excellence. She was named a 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Education category.
DAVE DRUKER As Executive Vice President at Dataskill, Druker is responsible for marketing, sales, client services, and the operation of the Tijuana office. Prior to Dataskill, Drucker was the Branch Manager for Technology Locator in San Diego. He’s also had a long career developing applications for companies in the insurance, financial services, and healthcare industries. This is Druker’s third time serving as a Top Tech Exec judge.
KELLY GUNNING As Information Technology Director at BAE Systems in San Diego, Gunning is responsible for the enterprise-wide collaboration portfolio. He is in charge of integrating technology and processes to identify or create the collaborative capabilities for the 40,000-plus employees to work together as well as with customers and teammates across geographical and electronic boundaries. In 2011, he was selected as a Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Private Large Company category.
DEBRA JENSEN As Chief Information Officer for Charlotte Russe, Jensen’s technology focus includes business intelligence and analytics, merchandising and store systems, and ecommerce. She is a member of the advisory board for the California State University San Marcos Business Information Systems program and Health Care Information Systems program. In 2010, she was a Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Public Large Company category.
CHARLOTTE KLOCK Klock serves as the Senior Executive Director of Information Technology Infrastructure for Administrative Computing and Telecommunications as well as the Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer for the UCSD campus. She directs all aspects of network and data security. Klock is a member of the CIO Executive Council, serves on the EDUCAUSE Network Council, and is a member of Internet2. She was named a 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Education category.
GREGORY MAGARIL As Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Technology at Ceatus Media Group, Magaril manages all software development and IT infrastructure. His technology solutions have played a vital strategic role in the growth of the company. Magaril serves as president of the San Diego Association of IT Professionals. In 2012, he was selected as an IT Executive of the Year and Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Private Small Company category.
BOB MILLINGTON As Director of Information Technology for the Veterans Medical Research Foundation, Millington is responsible for developing the IT strategy and managing and maintaining all technology initiatives and facilities infrastructure. Currently, he is involved with the CIO Roundtable of San Diego and is on the board of the San Diego Association of IT Professionals. Millington also served as a Top Tech Exec judge in 2011.
HEATHER MOSHIER Moshier serves as the Executive Vice President of Information Technology for the $6 billion San Diego County Credit Union. Her 17-year tenure of IT leadership has given SDCCU an outstanding market presence in innovation. In 2012, Moshier was awarded the title of Information Technology Executive of the Year by Credit Union Times and named a Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Nonprofit Company category.
CHUCK PHILLIPS A technology pioneer, Phillips serves as Chief Technology Officer at Digitaria. Phillips’ deep knowledge, creativity, and intuitive approach make him an invaluable asset to Digitaria’s key accounts, including Qualcomm, Rolex, NBC/Universal, Disney, Pixar, and the NFL. He is a twotime Information Technology Executive of the Year and was named the 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Public Small Company category.
CHRIS STASZAK With 20 years of IT experience, Staszak is a co-founder and Vice President of Technology at Semantic Research, a provider of knowledge representation software and services. Since September 11, 2001, Semantic Research has been focused on the problems associated with “connecting the dots” in the national security and law enforcement communities. He was named a 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree in the Private Medium Company category.
SAMER TOMINNA As the deputy Chief Information Officer for Commander, Navy Region Southwest, Tominna’s area of responsibility includes all Navy bases in California, Nevada, and other southwestern states. He oversees the day-to-day service of base communications, systems management, and application support for more than 10,000 users within the Pacific theater. He was named a 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree for the Government Agency category.

experience across diverse IT functional areas. For the past eight years, Williams was the IT Director at Biogen IDEC, responsible for global IT operations. Most recently, Williams joined Illumina as the head of the Global IT Client Services Group. He has served as a Top Tech Exec judge for the past three years.
MARK ZECCA, PH.D. As Chief Information Officer, Zecca has enriched the IT division at Nuvasive, employing technologies and cutting-edge innovation, especially in mobility, virtual processing, and inventory asset management. Zecca has helped the company become a billion-dollar start-up and leader in the industry. NuVasive was recently recognized by ComputerWorld magazine as a Technical Laureate in the field of mobility innovation. Zecca was name a 2012 Top Tech Exec Honoree for the Public Large Company category. Like
