WITTE BUILDING
COMMERCIAL SPACE RENOVATION The owner of the historic Witte Building located on Laclede’s Landing in Saint Louis hired the Lawrence Group to renovate their interior spaces. The scope included redesigning the first and second floor community spaces, as well as some of the rented tenant spaces throughout the property. I created as-built drawings, schematic design options, and calculated gross rentable space.

SSM ST. MARY’S
POST-OCCUPANCY RESEARCH Lawrence Group designed a new 172 patient room hospital to be located in Jefferson City, MO. The building is fully occupied, which gave a unique chance to conduct research to further understand impacts of a decentralized nursing station. These experiments conducted through the evidence-based design model will be able to dictate future design in order to achieve nurse efficiency and optimal patient care. Following the lead of Hui Cai, we measured multiple variables in order to quantify the consequences of a decentralized nursing system in the Med-Surg and ICU departments. A bulk of the efforts were spent performing behavior tracking and behavior mapping by independent observation and nurse shadowing, respectively. We also interviewed those nurses and had them perform an awareness mapping exercise to understand how they collaborated with coworkers. Finally, We measured noise levels throughout the department to see if there was a decibel concentration in the collaboration hubs.

JOHN BURROUGHS HIGH CERAMICS YARD RENOVATION
I took the lead on a small remodel of a ceramic yard at John Burroughs School located in Saint Louis. LG had been designing a new math and science building for the school already, and this small project was a new addition to the overall scope. I visited the site to take photos and measurements in order to create an as-built documentation package. I then submitted multiple renderings of schematic design options for the client to choose from and move forward.

CITY FOUNDRY
FEDERAL MOGUL FOUNDRY ADAPTIVE REUSE
City Foundry Saint Louis is an adaptive reuse project that will be located in the new Cortex district of Saint Louis. The $340 million project will include a food hall in the form of rentable stalls, large office spaces, over 45 retail spaces, a parking garage, public spaces, and a walkway connecting the site to the Great Rivers Greenway Trails sytem. I worked on the project sporadically throughout my time at LG. I assisted with schematic site plan drawings, market research, editing red-lines, and squarefoot calculations. When my internship had concluded, abatement of the Federal Mogul site had begun, and the project was in the design development stage.
