Team co-captain Jackson Adams has been a member of the golf program for four years and his leadership this entire season was instrumental in the Hawks winning their first state championship since 1994. His consistency on the course earned him All-Conference recognition this spring. Jackson will move to Athens next fall when he attends the University of Georgia.
Team co-captain Davis Sayman is a two-time All-State and three-year 1st Team All-Conference honoree who won the NCISAA Championship as a sophomore, shooting a 6 under par 66 that included seven birdies on the back nine at Greensboro Country Club. Davis led the Hawks to their first state championship in 29 years and capped off three straight years ranked in the top 10 stroke differential for the season, finishing T6 in this year’s state championship. Davis will be continuing his education and his golf career at Davidson College next year.
Jake is a Latin Lifer and has been a member of the golf program for 2 years. Jake also competed for the Hawks in cross country and track and field. We will miss his easygoing nature and his ability to hit the golf ball a ‘country mile’ and the sound it made off the face of his club. Jake will move to Chapel Hill in the fall to study at the University of North Carolina.
