BACHELOR PROJECT SPORT ARCHITECTURE, PAKOUR MOVEMENT AND FLOW, USER-DEFINED, ARCHITECTUAL VOKABULARY, RAW MATERIALS, STREET LIFE, HUMAN SCALE gab shifting
Time: 6. semester Institute for Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape Duration: 12 weeks Individual work Context: In between Norvest and Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. Denmark
level switch
heterogeneity
The project is a house for parkour and street culture where movement is the focus both in terms of traffic, the materials and the user. The primary goal has been to study the link between the parkour practitioner’s movement and the architecture of the building. Thus, human movement has a significant impact on the architectural expression of the building.
emtiness mass contrast skeleton
Diagram of architectual intention/ Building elements generating movements
The site is located on the border between Nordvest and Frederiksberg, where Bispeengbuens raw concrete landscape forms a boundary between the two districts. We are in a traffic hub where speed and sound permeates the senses. The traffic moves linearly and efficiently from one location to the next, like the parkour practitioner moves in this way. The silence is hard to find in this fast-paced environment and here you find an emerging street culture. The area’s young people are attracted by the heterogeneous environment and place of raw nature, which form the basis of Parkour house.
CHARLOTTE LIN PEDERSEN Arch. — Bartlett Master of Architecture Application 2017.
Parkour movements form the grammar of the building design. The grammar is reflected in a complexity of level switch, space, surface, skelleton/ mass.

ACADEMIC PROJECT housing
SELF DEFINED PROGRAMME, FLEXIBLE AND TEMPORARY HOUSING, WOOD CONSTRUCTION, CUSTOMIZED ACCORDING TO INDIVIDUAL NEEDS, INDUSTRIUAL GRID- STRUCTURE When: 5. semester Institute for Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape Team: Elaina Kepler Duration: 12 weeks Context: Refshaleøn, Copenhagen. Denmark
The current refuge crisis has resulted in 626,000 people seeking asylum in Europe in 2014 alone, the highest numbers since the Balkan Wars in the 1990’s. Due to Denmark’s relative affluency and leadership in social welfare, we believe there is a responsibility to accomodate some of these individuals to the best of our abilities. We see Refshalesøen, with it’s fluid components moving around and within a larger system, as metaphor for the refugee situation in Europe. We also believe that the site location would be the ideal transition space, or stepping stone, for these individuals as it could afford them a degree of automonomy as they adjust and integrate into Danish society.

The housing is imagined as a temporary and flexible component that can be clustered together or spread out, creating passageways and adaptable units. The housing units are built in three sizes - single, couple and family, and can be customized according to individual needs via a system of moveable fabric walls. The housing takes the industrial grid system that is found on the island (Refshaleøen), and translates it to a human scale. he materiality of the housing is very important, as it is imagined to be warm and give a feeling of home through natural materials such as wood.

DRAWING OF THE YEAR/ SELF-INITIATED COMPETITION MIX MEDIA CITY SECTION, COLLAPSED STRUCTURES, DESTRUCTION OF HUMAN HABITAT, WATER COLOUR, COLLAGE, PHOTOSHOP, ILLUSTRATOR When: 2016 Theme: Habitat and mixed media Independent work, competition Context: Aleppo, Syria
The drawing investigates the crumbled shells of mosques, buildings, artifacts and cultural identity of Alleppo. The the war has piece by piece resulted in the destruction of an ancient city. Millions have lost their homes while at least 50 % of the Syrian has been displaced. At least 1,200,000 homes have been destroyed. In the absence of its inhabitants, a dead building, like a dead language, can be sadly eloquent. It speaks for the sufferings of the Syrians, who fled the city Alleppo or whose bones lie in the mass graves interlocked with fragments of carved stone screens and turned wood. The drawing points out that destruction not only shatters a nation’s culture and morale but is also a deliberate act of eradicating a culture’s memory and, ultimately, its existence. The destruction of cultural artifacts is a conscientious strategy to target and destroy the collective memory, history, and identity of a people. The drawing is constructed by using a mix of medias. First the base was drawn in AutoCad. Thereafter, the drawing was photoshoped with a watercolour sky and background. Lastly the drawing was assembled in illustrator. The section is in reality 100 cm long.

PAVILLION MAA 2015/ SELF-INITIATED COMPETITION USER INVOVLMENT, WOOD CONSTRUCTION, MOVING THROUGH ARCHITECTURE, TECTONIQUE REPETIVE SYSTEM,
When: 2014 Theme: Pavilion Team: Kaare Iversen and Magnus Lindquist Context: Rosenborg Castle Gardens, Copenhagen, DK
The purpose of the pavillion is to include the users of the Rosenborg Castle Gardens and give them an unforgettable sensory experience. The pavillion is inspired by the geometry and history of the garden. The center of the structure opens up to a view of the sky and acts as a resting point for the user before continuing on their journey. The spiral form connects the edges of the site, draws users in and through the twisted passage, changes their orientation and experience of the garden. The proposal primarily works with the concept of ‘passage’ since this is one of the main functions of the garden. The pavillion, like the garden, is a place where one moves, senses, enjoys and explores. The proposal works with the strengths and weaknesses of wood. Only wood joints and glue are used to hold the construction together. In order to build the pavilion, circa 7300 meters of wood beams in 48mm x 48mm size would be needed.
Plan
CHARLOTTE LIN PEDERSEN Arch. — Bartlett Master of Architecture Application 2017.
The form and length of the wood beams vary throughout the pavilon. All the angles between the wood beams are 120 degrees, thus through the joints, the beams become one throughout the pavilion.

NORTHERN LIGHT/ SELF-INITIATED COMPETITION LIGHT SOURCE, CREATING ATMOSPHERE THROUGH LIGHT, DEFINING A ZONE, MATERIALS, 1:1 MODEL BUILDING When: 2015 Theme: Lamp design Team: Ida Helene Ray Context: None given
We wanted to create a safe, inviting space for sitting down, enjoying a conversation, reading a book with a cup of tea - or maybe a whiskey - and letting your imagination float away. Our lamp is an object that creates and defines a zone for comfort and cosiness, a zone that gradually fades into the rest of the house with its diffuse light. Nevertheless, the lamp has a clear and bright centre that deploys the sense of a gathering force. Another aspect of the concept is the exploration of a new way of positioning a light source. Letting the glass globe rest in straps just above the floor fosters a play with gravity. Once lit, the lamp appears to dematerialize, and turn into a ball of fire.

AESTHETICS, PROJECT MEASURING, BUILDING ANALYSIS REGISTERING, MODEL BUILDING IN 1:33, WOOD WORK, LASER CUTTING
When:4th semester/ Institute for Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape. Team:Team of four Duration: 6 weeks Context: Copenhagen City Center
This building analysis is based in the arrival and in the first impressions of the courthouse. We investigated how the visitor experiences the arrival and entering the bulding. We looked at movement, the tripartite and what was the foundation of the aesthetics of the courthouse. Through the 1:33 model of the court house, we discussed the term ‘honesty’ and its relation to aesthetics. Moreover we investigated the harmony, irregularity and the building-body in model.

Each warehouse (type B) alows a distinctive identity such as gastronomy; museum; creative firms and artist workshops. The warehouses would be an ideal space for creative rental, creative rental or artist workshops. Inside the structure, courtyards and coloured glassboxes light up at night with life. At night the courtyards will make up a green element inside the structure providing a soothing atmosphere. One can imagine sitting by the courtyards with a cup of tea.

The Campus NGI is located at the corner af Sognsveien and Ringvei 03, between colonial gardens and Ullevaal Stadium. Moreover, the client wanted a 10 storeys building, which would dominate the local skyline as the tallest building in the district. Our goal was: 1 / To create an powerful project anchored to the site 2 / Openness and transparancy 3 / Secure functionality, efficiency and flexibility for the users 4 / Sustainible building 5 / Focus on simplicity and sustainability without indulging the ordinary The volume emerges with a modern expression and a strong identity in respect of its context. A horizontal facade creates openness and transparency that invites the gaze of the passers ind while the indendoor environment gets maximum daylight. Glas Red brick adorn the facade creating a rhythm af aluminum frames in an efficient modular system. The bright outside displays a warm Scandinavian interior. Subtle and transparent in its outside, diverse and exuberant in sit inside. The project proposes an attractive green public plaza with a minimum of cartrafic. The square is dedicated to the city and the citizens. A Powered restaurant, cafe or shops will contribute to public life.
