Hello and welcome to our first quarterly magazine for Charmed. Inside this winter edition you will find lots of information on our salon, our promos and products as well as keeping you informed with all the latest trends in hair, beauty and skin treatments. I love June, the beginning of the cooler months mean we can start looking forward to cosy nights in front of the fire, woollen jumpers and best of all hot body treatments and hot oil massages.

At Charmed we understand that most of our clients are very busy with jobs, children (sometimes both) homes, and lets not forget the hubbies. I also know, being a mum, wife, housekeeper (and all the rest) as well as running a busy business, I get very little ―me‖ time. But we deserve it! Concealers Don’t use on the entire face; just rub it in to the localised area to cover any imperfections.
Correctors Less is more. Only use a small amount of the corrector colour or it will become obvious.
Foundations Always use a good quality foundation as low cost low grade cosmetics contain Isopropyl Myristate, which causes blackheads and skin irritations. A good mineral liquid foundation is good for most skins.

Powders Loose powder: contains pigment Translucent powder: no pigment Keep the powder to a minimum on mature skin as it will emphasise lines. You can apply your eye make up prior to foundation to avoid debris falling on to the face. If you’ve forgotten to do eye make up first, then use a tissue or some powder and dust off when finished.
Recommended colour selections for eye colours Green eyes—Dark purple and plum colours will make green eyes pop out. Blue eyes—Bronze and pink colours will enhance blue eyes. Hazel eyes—Gold, brown and green shades make hazel eyes stand out. Brown and black eyes—Greens and all greys are sexy, especially on Oriental eyes.
Use brushes for a more natural or softer look and use sponge tip applicators for a more intense look. Most of all have fun. This is only a guide so experiment

Cosmetic Skin Needling and how it works? Cosmetic Skin Needling stimulates cell renewal. This is very important as we age because our skins ability to renew itself slows down and this is the reason we begin to show signs fine lines, wrinkles, loss of elasticity and volume. By stimulating the targeted cells deep in the dermis you will notice a softer, more even and plumper skin begin to form. This is due to the increase in fibroblast cells which produce collagen—the skins building blocks. With any skin treatment you ideally need to change what is
happening under the skin for long lasting results.
How long will it take to achieve results? With the in-salon intense skin needling treatments we can offer you, you may notice a softening in your skin within 2 weeks. Results do accrue over time however. A minimum of 3 treatments is recommended and a home skin care prescription will be recommended to help enhance the result For some skins we would recommend the use of the roller system for home use which will help with long term results. Acne what can you do? ...are you tired of having reoccurring skin problems? You are not alone. Acne is a very complicated skin disease and needs careful treatment and analysis. At Charmed we take a holistic approach to acne and have been successful in treating up to grade 4. However there are times when you will be advised to seek medical advice. We have a very comprehensive range of treatments, equipment and products that have proven results for effective treatments. There is no ‘miracle’ cure, no matter what has been said in the media about certain ‘products’ claiming to have your skin ’good as new’ almost overnight. A lot of these products are harsh and while they will help with the outer appearance of your skin they rarely do the healing needed deep in the dermis. In order to help control acne you need to bring the acne to the surface of the skin to heal it and you also
need to use products and treatments that also change how your skin works underneath. You need to treat the cause, the deeper layers of skin and skin behaviour to effect a lasting change with good results. We use combination therapy for treating acne but first, we strengthen and heal your skin barrier to prepare it for the more intense treatments. We use a program of Deep Cleanse Facials, Peels, Vitamin Therapy, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Therapy and SoliTone LED Treatments as well as Microdermabrasion Treatments. Your skin is checked constantly and we will tailor the treatments to what your skin need at that particular time. We have had great results. When treating acne or congested skins we also need to consider your diet, genetics and state of hormones—then if problems are present in this area it may require you to see a specialist.
