These ageing hounds are not that dangerous...until you call them ageing hounds! Even then their bark is worse than their bite, which is not to critique their joyful singing! OK! So puppies they ain’t but they spin out a couple of energetic and bar pleasing sets in a much revivied local like the White Hart on Loughborough’s Churchgate on the run up to Christmas and they go down a storm. Witty, tuneful, participative, skilful and at times even original these dogs appeal to a wide range of audiences, especially when there’s a few pints swilling around!
In their own words: “We play a wide range of stuff from old country blues from the 30s, to stuff “wot we just wrote”. On the way we dabble with a little Chuck Berry, a pinch of Fats Waller, a spoonful of Willie Dixon, a jar of Jimmy Reed, and a sprinkle of the wonderful Wiyos (check ‘em out!).”
“A live set never stays in the same genre for long. “Memphis Tennessee” may be followed by “Dirty Old Town” and then “Ain’t Misbehaving” by “Bare Necessities” and “Bright Lights, Big City”. We play for fun, and hopefully people who see us get caught up in the fun too! p.s. We are not that dangerous, we are fully house trained!”
