“Are all the material suitable for the McDonald’s system?” All of the materials used in the portfolio designs are all standard materials used not only across the McDonald’s system for years, but also widely used in hospitality designs. Every material has been tested repeatedly through Kay Chemical, and all materials have passed their rigorous and various testing scenarios including using the food, drink, and condiment products found in McDonald’s stores. A cleaning manual for the materials in the portfolio designs is available through Kay Chemical. Owner/
“Is this floor tile going to stay clean? Is this new to McDonald’s .” The floor tile selected for the Portfolio has been used by the McDonald’s system, and is not new. The entire approved tile selection is though-body porcelain tile. Through-body tile is derived from mixtures of clay, sand, and other natural minerals that are shaped into tile and fired at high temperatures. The pressed dust method results in a porcelain tile with a density so high that water absorption is less than .5%. Therefore, the cleanability and durability of the selected tiles, regardless of color, is far superior to anything else.

By using neutral CORIAN colors, the life of the table top is greatly expanded.
