The golf experience at Berkeley Hall is a seamless blend of natural wonder and architectural craftsmanship. Tom Fazio designed two courses, known simply as the North Course and the South Course. While each has its own distinct personality, both are superbly routed with a seamless blend of balance, variety and flow. With no interior homes or roads, these two “core golf” courses are inspired by the classic designs of the 1920s, such as Riviera Country Club, Winged Foot and Seminole. With routing that meanders through an open coastal landscape framed by seaside grasses, each course also delivers dramatic elevation changes, beautiful water features, and bold strategic bunkering that showcase the architect’s artistry.

The North Course

The North Course is a scenic marvel with tranquil lakes, rolling fairways and bunkers that strategically frame heavily contoured greens. Its elevation changes, open vistas and liberal use of native grasses give the North Course a unique beauty unrivaled by any course in the Lowcountry.

The South Course

The South Course offers a classic parkland golf experience, featuring majestic live oaks, loblolly pines, azaleas, and crepe myrtles, which accentuate the course routings against a backdrop of golden marshes along the pristine Okatie River. The River Park

What puts your mind at ease? Is it exploring the river in a kayak or on a paddleboard? Is it enjoying the scenery along a pathway either on foot or on a bike? Is it on a sunset cruise with friends? Or is it simply sitting quietly on the dock, taking it all in? Whatever way you prefer to bond with the water –its sights, sounds, and serenity – you can embrace it and some much needed tranquility at Berkeley Hall’s River Park.

The River Park winds along the banks of the Okatie River. Community Dock is dotted with egrets and the occasional dolphin sighting. Surrounded by 10 miles of nature trails, our Berkeley Hall Greenway travels to the park, over rustic bridges and below moss-draped live oaks. It’s here where we host oyster roasts, meet up with friends, and simply turn off the world for awhile.

At Berkeley Hall, some of the best saltwater fishing is right here at the River Park. Moss-draped Live oaks lead the way to the Community Dock, an ideal spot to cast a line or a net for redfish, trout and flounder. Complimentary fishing gear makes it easy for Members to drop in a line when the mood grabs them!

Several freshwater ponds within the community are inhabited with largemouth bass, catfish, carp, and even tilapia. Our catch and release fishing is great for sportsmen as well as fun, family fishing.

Racquet Sports

The Berkeley Hall tennis programs offer competitive point play clinics as well as friendly play, geared to all levels. Avid and novice players can find their fit, with yearround clinics for all ages, group, semi-private and private sessions, as well as tennis socials and annual tournaments. And with pickleball surging as one of the fastest growing sports in America, the pickleball program offers fun match play clinics with a mix of round robins, private sessions and social play. Whichever racquet sport you prefer, everyone can meet up post-match on the refreshment terrace, and enjoy casual luncheon fare at our adjacent Spa café.

Berkeley Hall offers a number of physical pursuits, from golf and racquet sports to swimming, biking, water sports and more for each member to meet their goals. In order to ensure our members continue to enjoy these activities for years to come, we’re proud to offer cutting-edge fitness evaluations and physical training programs designed specifically for each member.

Pilates, barre, core conditioning, yoga and aerobics are among the full roster of classes provided by trained instructors. The Berkeley Hall community recognizes that we are part of an even bigger community, and are proud to do our part to serve it.

Thanks to the generosity of the Berkeley Hall community, the Charitable Foundation has raised more than $2 million for Bluffton area charities since its inception in 2008. We are honored to help these worthy organizations make important strides in improving the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors. The money, which is raised from member donations, Charity Cup events, and other BHCF fundraising, is awarded to local nonprofit organizations through a rigorous grant application and evaluation process.
