MICHAEL MARK

Michael Mark grew up in a household that was always buying and selling investment properties. “My father loved to buy and sell properties, we never knew what he was going to buy”. There were rental houses, commercial buildings or development land.

After graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1985 with a degree in finance Michael came back to Beaufort to help grow the family furniture business. Starting as an 11,000 square foot old warehouse in downtown Beaufort Michael and brother Larry Mark created a vision of a Furniture and Design complex. In 2000 they developed the Perimeter Walk complex with 60,000 square feet of home-related goods. Michael’s brother Larry has worked tirelessly to insure it is still thriving today.

In 2003 Michael became a licensed realtor primarily to be an informed investor but as his holdings grew, friends started using his market knowledge and real estate services to invest. This grew each year until in 2008 Michael left the family furniture business to become a full-time agent. “this was a time when sales were declining, and systems had to be perfected to survive”.

Since that time Michael has been servicing both commercial and residential clients. After becoming a CCIM in 2016 the primary focus has been Commercial Real Estate with multiple transactions including development land, historic renovation projects and income producing investment properties. Michael has been very open to helping clients better understand the market and opportunities.

If there is any downtime Michael is an avid inshore fisherman and is a State board member of the Coastal Conservation Association and helps with oyster bed restorations and offshore reef-building along with other top water projects in South Carolina.

SUSAN TAYLOR

Susan entered the real estate business directly out of college, making her a true lifer in this profession! She led a successful sales career in the Wilmington, Delaware area where she quickly became a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club, back when a million dollars was a lot of money. As a career professional, Susan has served as the President of her local Association of Realtors and also served on many state and national committees and boards. She managed a top sales office for one of the country’s largest real estate firms where she was responsible for the training and coaching of a team of top-producing professionals. As a specialist in customer service and business development, she brings a depth of marketing experience to her practice.

Susan and her husband started the second chapter of their lives on Daufuskie Island, SC in 2006 where they instantly fell in love with the South Carolina Lowcountry, with the ultimate goal of making it their home. Now in the next chapter, Susan is with Charter One Realty as the leader of her real estate team where she brings her 30 plus years of real estate experience to Coastal Carolina.

KAREN O'GRADY

Karen and her husband Nathan made the move to Daufuskie Island after relocating here from the Philadelphia area. What started out as a second home to reconnect with family and friends became so much more. The decision to relocate to the Low Country and make this their forever home was one of the easiest decisions to make. Karen has had a lengthy career in the retail sector fixing, creating and expanding brands through her many years in the C-suite own major retail organizations. Her ability to manage complex businesses has been aided by her strong organizational skills and focusing her teams on putting the customers and clients first and in turn lead her to great success in her career.
