Call 1.800.221.1540 (ext. 8338 or 8339) or ask to speak to our Technical Services Department. 8:30am – 4:30pm, EST. Designtex ENHANCEMENT & FINISHES provides finishes, treatments, coatings or laminations that are added to the fabrics after they're woven to enhance fabric performance and or enable products to meet specific performance requirements, cleaning expectations or certain flammability codes. Each has been lab and field-tested All enhancements must be tested with your specific fabric selection prior to production Not all enhancements are available on all styles Do not post treat fabrics containing inherently flame retardant polyester (e.g. Avora FR) as such after treatment can affect the effectiveness of flame retardancy. Overages of up to 10%-20% are applicable on all custom orders and orders that are processed with Performance Plus surface treatments, backings or barriers Please contact Customer Service at 800.221.1540 or your Designtex Sales Representative for pricing on finishes and enhancements.

FINISHES ®

TEFLON Soil and stain repellent treatment that is applied to the fabric to repel water and oil-based soils and stains NANO-TEX™ Resists Spills Nanotechnology provides a permanent molecular bond resulting in a protective finish that provides a high level of soil and stain resistance, ease of maintenance and cleaning properties for upholstery and panel fabrics Fabrics must be either approved in advance or evaluated for effective treatment and approved. Fabrics not on the pre-approved list need to be evaluated prior to order entry. Candidates for Nano-tex cannot have topical treatments. WS Cleaning code Only 100% solution dyed fabrics can be treated with diluted bleach solution Hot water extraction (steam cleaning) can be used if it is a solution-dyed fabric or when directed Certain fabric types may not be compatible; please inquire NANO-TEX™ WITH FR is the same Nano-tex performance stain resistant finish with added Flame retardant treatment that allows inherently flame resistant fabrics such as Trevira or Avora which pass NFPA 701 prior to treatment to pass NFPA 701 with the Nano-tex finish. FR ENHANCER A finish that can upgrade the flame-retardant performance of 100% polyester fabrics Process goods must be greige goods ANTIMICROBIAL FINISH Inhibits the growth of bacteria, mildew, fungi and odor Not durable to commercial laundering For information please contact Technical Services FLAME RETARDANT TREATMENT (FR Immersion) Fabric is immersed in a special chemical bath that renders the fabric flame retardant. This finish can be used for drapery use. Special spray flame-retardant treatments available for 100% synthetic fabrics, delicate fabrics, and leather

BACKINGS ACRYLIC BACKCOATING Three types are offered: light for panel and wall upholstery, medium for upholstery and heavy for wallcovering. Improves the dimensional stability of a fabric; prevents yarns from slipping, permits some extensibility and acoustical translucence TM Hardwear Lytyn wallcoverings require a minimum order of 90 yards and there is no additional charge over the listed price of these wallcoverings. Some styles are in stock with this coating; please inquire. Light spray backcoating is preferred for panel and wall upholstery applications for increased workability and acoustical translucence In wallcovering applications, the backcoating improves the dimensional stability of the fabric and provides a barrier to prevent strike-through of adhesives to the face. (may also include soil and stain repellent finish). Other Flame-retardant coatings and backings. Please contact our Technical Services Department for assistance. PAPER BACKING Provides a backing to a fabric. This flat surface for wallcovering application works as a barrier to prevent strikethrough of adhesives to the face and provides a smooth surface for direct glue application. Minimum order 500 yards Treatment requires that minimum be run in a continuous length Contact Product Services for pricing KNIT BACKING Improves the dimensional stability of a fabric Treatment requires that minimum be run in a continuous length FR PLUS™ BACKCOATING A chemical backcoating providing flame retardant properties This backcoating can allow fabrics to meet cigarette ignition tests. (e.g. NFPA 260 or UFAC) This FR treatment used with certain fabrics aids in meeting California Technical Bulletin #133 assembly tests ANTI-STATIC FINISHES & ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE BACKCOATINGS For computer, instrument-sensitive and healthcare installations Minimums and prices vary; please inquire

COATINGS C-1™ PROTECTIVE COATING A protective coating to provide durable ease of maintenance and cleaning properties on upholstery fabrics. Carries a W cleaning code. C-1™ is antimicrobial, can increase abrasion resistance and improve opportunity to meet cigarette ignition tests including NFPA 260. It has a W cleaning code Treated fabrics maintain original extensibility for ease of furniture manufacturing Treated fabrics should not be hot water extracted or cleaned with bleach with the exception of solution dyed nylon or solution-dyed polyester fabrics A wide range of fabrics are available with C-1™ however certain fabric types are not compatible Some require approval of a trial sample first; please inquire Processing requires batch minimum of 500 yards. Please consult finishing specialist for next processing date. Lead time may exceed 2 weeks. C-1.5™ PROTECTIVE COATING A Protective clear coating that provides enhanced stain-resistance and easy cleaning C-1.5™ is antimicrobial and carries a WS cleaning code Not for use with fabrics which have been treated with Teflon® or backcoatings C-1.5™ can be ordered with a backing for added stability. Orders under 100 yards also require approval from our Technical Services Department Processing requires batch minimum of 500 yards. Please consult finishing specialist for next processing date. Lead time may exceed 2 weeks. LAMINATIONS S-1.5™ STRETCHABLE FLUID BARRIER A moisture barrier that is applied to the back of the fabric to resist the penetration of fluids into the furniture assembly

The 2-mil stretchable membrane allows the final laminate to maintain extensibility and the adhesive system provides antimicrobial properties to the entire laminate The fluid barrier and adhesive system in itself has a "WS" cleaning code, including hot water extraction and diluted bleach, subject to the limitations of the face fabric High range of hydrostatic resistance as fluid barrier film For indoor use only

S-2™ FLUID BARRIER TM 100% polyurethane backing which provides a fluid barrier for Sportswear only For indoor or outdoor use S-3™ FLUID BARRIER A one-mil polyurethane fluid barrier to provide a moisture barrier to the back of SPORTSWEAR™ Low range of hydrostatic resistance as a fluid barrier For indoor use only

S-4™ FLUID BARRIER A backcoating (not a laminate) that provides a fluid barrier to upholstered applications. Provides enhanced stain resistance and easy cleaning Low range of hydrostatic resistance as fluid barrier S-5™ FLUID BARRIER A four-mil vinyl moisture barrier backing that is mildew resistant and anti-microbial For indoor use only TM

DURABLOCK A durable, breathable barrier that can be laminated to any textile treated with Nano-Tex Resist Spills. 100% antimony free polyester that is completely recyclable WS Cleaning code

FINISH/LAMINATION COMBINATION ®

GORE SEATING PROTECTION (GSP) A high performance fabric treatment that combines a durable protective finish and a fluid barrier resulting in a high level of soil and stain resistance; ease of maintenance; and cleaning properties on upholstery fabrics. The fluid barrier that is laminated to the fabric back is a waterproof breathable Gore proprietary film. GSP has a "WS" cleaning code. Proper cleaning and disinfection recommendations will be found in the Designtex upholstery cleaning manual Check with your local sales representative for fabric approval status or to submit other fabrics for evaluation
