purrealist “A half-brother to Champion Racing to Win, Purrealist is a graded stakes winning son of Tale of the Cat, perhaps the most brilliant of all the sons of Storm Cat, and subsequently a Champion Sire of Two-Year-Olds. Purrealist has been quick to live up to this background with a classic winner in his first crop of runners…” Alan Porter - Pedigree Consultants
Weekend winners and happy Hawk have sire purring Astute trainer Danny O’Brien enjoyed stakes success with talented colt Purrealist during his all-too-brief career on the track and may well have plenty of fun with one of his offspring, who scored impressively at Ararat last week. Having her third race start, three-year-old filly Melrose Place was sent out a raging favourite for the 1100-metre maiden and gave nothing else a chance, bolting away to win by 4¾ lengths. Her two previous runs yielded a second and a fourth on the Geelong synthetic track, and Melrose Place obviously appreciated the switch to a grass surface. Retained to race by her trainer, who also bred her, Melrose Place is the first winner for minor winning Fasliyev (USA) mare Miss Mancini, who comes from the family of Group 1 Arc de Triomphe winner Sagace.

New Stakes-Winner for Purrealist
The O’Brien family enjoyed success at Flemington on Saturday with Danny breeding and training Melrose Place, and his wife Nina owning the three-year-old filly who won the $150,000, listed Gucci Icons of Heritage Stakes (1200m), fittingly in some style. “It was very easy. She never got out of second gear" said Oliver. She’s always shown a hell of a lot of ability. Rob Burnet - Thoroughbred News
Champion trainer Peter Moody has a knack for placing his horses to advantage and his decision to send promising Purrealist gelding Storm Approach across to Adelaide on Saturday paid dividends when the gelding captured the Listed SAJC Hill Smith Stakes. Tara Madgwick - Sunday, 13 October 2013
Also successful last week for Purrealist was the Peter Moody-trained mare Purrstring, who saluted last Sunday at Hawkesbury as favourite over 1800 metres. Melrose Place and Purrstring are among 36 winners for Purrealist, whose star son Hawkspur is on track for a big spring campaign following a brilliant victory in the Group 2 Chelmsford Stakes and a fastfinishing fourth in the Group 1 George Main Stakes at Randwick last Saturday. Winning Post Hawkspur winning the Gr 3 BTC Grand Prix Stakes
