WHAT WE DO CCS Day Camp is chock-full of physical, scientific, and creative activities each day! Our Day campers are grouped by age– PreK, K through 1st, 2nd through 5th, and 6th though 8th–to ensure that all activities are exciting as well as age appropriate. Themed weeks, with coordinating activities, crazy dress-up days, and even a few surprise visitors will keep your camper anticipating the next week of fun! TIMES

LET'S TALK LUNCH! LUNCH IS INCLUDED Lunch is provided for all campers who attend any of the CCS Day Camp programs—including CCS Day Camp AddOns. The price of lunch is included in the registration. LUNCH PROVIDED BY LEGACY FOOD, and a menu will be available each week so campers know what will be served. PURCHASED LUNCH OPTION Campers who are staying at CCS for a full day by attending two Specialty Camps or a Specialty Camp that lasts all day will have the ability to purchase the lunch option for an additional $30. SNACKS PROVIDED Our schedule allows for a leisurely lunch break and plenty of opportunities to hydrate throughout the day. A healthy snack in the morning and most likely a Popsicle in the afternoon, will be provided daily; however, if your camper needs a bit extra fueling, feel free to provide additional snacks! Just remember, CCS is a nut-free campus!

*Lunch is not provided for Horseback Riding Camp or Chatt. Explorers as they are off campus.

MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL CAMP $150

MAY 26 - 29

with Coach Mark Mariakis 6th-8th | 9 AM-12 PM Led by CCS coaches and current football players, this camp will focus on football fundamentals, skill development, and offensive/defensive techniques. Campers will also be introduced to the different skill tests such as 40-yard dash, vertical jump, and pro-agility test as well as the importance of academics, physical fitness, and spiritual well-being.

EXPLORING NATURE & BOTANY $175 with ALLISON THOMAS PreK-2nd | 1 PM-4 PM This week will include science, art, and crafting. We’ll dig our hands in and learn about plants and nature. We’ll make terrariums, grow things, craft things, and explore the wonders of our natural world.

CO-ED BASKETBALL $175

with Coaches LAURA COTTRELL & EDDIE SALTER 3rd-8th | 9 AM-12 PM An amazing, high energy camp for boys and girls. Campers will practice and learn shooting fundamentals and mechanics, offensive footwork, ball handling, and much more. Campers will be taught techniques, but more importantly, they will be given tools to practice these skills at home. Together, Coach Salter and Coach Cottrell bring over 50 years of coaching experience to your camper!

HORSEBACK RIDING CAMP $400

JUNE 1 - 5

at BAYVIEW ACADEMY | 4th-8th 9 AM-4 PM This camp will take campers off campus to a local horse farm to learn how to care for and ride horses. The farm consists of 3 arenas with indoor and outdoor spaces. Riding helmets and gear are provided by the farm. Campers are dropped off and picked up at CCS. Transportation to and from the camp is provided on CCS buses, and a CCS staff person will be at the farm with campers all day.

FAIRY PRINCESS $175 with JENNY MCCREARY | PreK-2nd 9 AM-12 PM This camp will allow your daughter to focus on a different princess each day. This is done with crafts, songs, dress-up, games, and much more. ART CAMP $150 with ELIZABETH JOHNSON | 5th-8th 9 AM-12 PM Come enjoy a week of making art! This camp offers the opportunity to work with graphite, charcoal, water color, and acrylic paints. Explore the elements of art and the principles of design and learn how to use these tools to improve your artwork. Campers will also be introduced to the wonderful world of color theory.

COLLEGE APP BOOT CAMP $150

with JOAN VOS & SUZI SCHWEIR rising seniors | 1 PM-3 PM Are you interested in minimizing the stress surrounding the college admission process or getting a head start on the college application process? Students will complete applications, write essays, polish resumes, and receive assistance in understanding the entire application process. A review of how to best utilize college search, scholarship, and career path tools will also be provided.

CHATTANOOGA EXPLORERS $250 with JOSH GREEN | 5th-12th | 9 AM-4 PM Voted Outside Magazine’s “Best Town Ever” in 2017, Chattanooga is a place to be explored! Come experience all our city has to offer with a full day of adventure and discovery in some of Chattanooga’s most amazing outdoor spaces. Each day campers will embark on a new and exciting excursion—hiking, swimming, and exploring Chattanooga’s finest outdoor arenas!

with ELIZABETH JOHNSON | 5th-8th 1 PM-4 PM Do you love taking pictures, but are not sure how to edit them? Come learn how to use software to edit and create beautiful images.


DIVING INTO DISNEY $175 with MONICA JACKSON | PreK-2nd 1 PM-4 PM Come join us in exploring the magical world of Disney! Campers will spend the week making crafts, enjoying snacks, and playing games with Disney themes including Cars, Frozen, Lion King, and Princes and Princesses!

INTRO TO SPORTS FOR GIRLS $150

with Coach ALEX BOOCHIE PreK-2nd | 9 AM - 12 PM This camp is a great opportunity for campers to learn the basics of several sports. Campers will spend time learning basketball, softball, cheer & tumbling, volleyball, and soccer.

DRUMLINE FOR KIDS $175 with KIRK WARD | 2nd-5th | 1 PM-4 PM This camp will give kids a chance to play real drum line cadences and grooves on real drums. Campers will learn about each section of the drumline and how to read drum music, and they will go home with their own set of sticks and practice pads. Participants will share their skills at a CCS football game with the Pep Band in the fall.

LOWER SCHOOL WRESTLING $150

with Coach JOSH CRAFT | 1st-5th 9 AM-12 PM Campers will learn the basic, fundamental skills of wrestling as well as begin to grasp the foundational skills necessary to become a successful athlete. Campers will be working with CCS Head Coach and current members of the wrestling team.

NEEDLE POINT $175 with JENNY MCCREARY | 4th-8th 1 PM - 4 PM Have you ever wanted to learn the art of needle point? Now is your chance. Create something beautiful while learning the techniques of needle point and other string arts and crafts.

CO-ED VOLLEYBALL $150 with Coach SCHUYLER FRANKS 3rd-8th | 9AM-12 PM In this thrilling camp, your daughter or son will learn the fundamentals and explore the wonderful game of volleyball. Campers will learn how to pass, set, serve, and attack a ball. Campers will enjoy games and fun activities, all while learning the basics of volleyball. We are looking forward to having your camper attend this summer! Boys and girls are welcome!

MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING $150

VIDEOGRAPHY $150 with HEATH AUSTIN 5th-12th | 9 AM-12 PM This is a creative, hands-on learning experience! Campers will learn advanced videography and editing skills while creating an original short film. Students who would like to learn more about acting for the screen are also welcome! The camp will be led by CCS’s very own Videographer along with guest industry professionals.

TUMBLING $150

with Coach ASHLEY HOWERDA 2nd-8th | 1 PM-4 PM This camp will be led by certified tumbling and stunting instructors. Campers will spend 3 days (out of 5) at a local cheerleading gym (Chattanooga All Stars) where they will learn tumbling and stunting in a controlled and safe environment.

with Coach JOSH CRAFT | 6th-8th 1 PM - 4 PM This camp will teach the basic, fundamental skills of wrestling. We hope that by attending this camp, participants will begin to grasp the foundational skills necessary to become a successful athlete. Campers will be working with CCS Head Wrestling Coach and members of the High School wrestling team.


AMERICAN GIRL DOLL CAMP $175 with LAUREN HILKERT | PreK-2nd 9 AM-12 PM Campers will make handcrafted, customized accessories for their American Girl Dolls. All materials will be provided. Don’t have an American Girl Doll? No problem! Bring any one of your favorite dolls to this fun and crafty camp.

INTRO TO SPORTS FOR BOYS $150 with GREG DAVICK | 3rd-8th | 9 AM-12 PM Having trouble deciding what sport you are interested in? This camp is for you. Come spend a week learning the basics of multiple sports. Each day you will spend time playing and learning sports like basketball, football, baseball, soccer, and so much more!

with Coach BEN WHARTON | K-5th 9 AM-12 PM The CCS youth baseball clinic allows campers to learn and improve the basic skills of baseball in a fun, Christ-centered environment. Campers will be working with CCS Head Baseball Coach on skills such as throwing, fielding, hitting, sliding, base running, and pitching.

ESCAPE ROOM $175 with KIRSTEN HYDE | 3rd-8th 9 AM-12 PM Does your child like riddles and breaking codes? Join us this summer as we “Escape the Room!” The Campers will learn to break codes and solve problems–all while working together as a team. A great team-building experience! The Game-master will help guide them as they race against the clock to escape the room.

WOODWORKING $175 with DAVID MCCALLISTER | 4th-5th 9 AM-12 PM Come experience what it is like to work in the CCS Woodshop. You will have a great time learning how to safely build a project that you will be able to take home at the end of the week. Let’s build something together!

ADVANCED WOODWORKING $175 with DAVID MCCALLISTER 6th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM Come experience what it is like to work in the CCS Woodshop. You will have a great time learning how to safely build a project that you will be able to take home at the end of the week. Let’s build something together! This camp is designed for students with some experience with tools and building. This camp is led by CCS Woodshop teacher.

with KIRSTEN HYDE | 4th-8th 1 PM-4 PM Experience digital film-making or learn basic photography and photo editing techniques with hands-on instruction. Explore the art of digital film-making by shooting and editing your own unique video. Learn to write a script, operate a camera using manual functions, and make edits! Are you ready to create a movie?

MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP with MARY CATHERINE SCHIMPF | K-8th Become a part of a Chattanooga Christian School summer tradition as you experience our fabulous Musical Theatre Camp! Campers will learn all that goes into putting on a musical theatre show. Campers work on performance skills (singing, dancing, and acting), stagecraft skills (creating costumes, props, and sets), and how to pull a show together through teamwork! Every child will be a part of our dazzling final production on Friday, June 26 at either 11:00 AM or 3:00 PM. CAMP OPTIONS, COSTS & TIMES Two-week participation is required. Choose between morning, afternoon, or a full day of Musical Theatre Camp. MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE CAMP $300 | 9 AM-12 PM or 1 PM-4 PM STAGE DESIGN ART $300 | 9 AM-12 PM or 1 PM-4 PM This camp dives deep into the skills needed to create the visual effects of the show. DASH, DOT, OZOBOT, AND SHERO $175 with KIRSTEN HYDE | PreK-2nd 1 PM - 4 PM Robotics campers will be motivated to collaborate with one another to understand the basics of robotics construction and the programming language. In this robotics camp, we will have lots of fun programming the robots to complete challenges and battle in strategy games. A few fun robotics camp activities include dressing up our robots for a dance party, creating a story using different robots, or battle racing the robots!

In addition to practicing technique and skill, your camper will be introduced to basic rules and etiquette of the game. The CCS Girls Head Tennis Coach will lead the camp.


HOW TO BE AN AUTHOR $175 with GINNY MOORE 4th-8th | 9 AM-12 PM Ever want to publish your own book? Come join us for a week of learning how to write and illustrate your own story. Students will publish their own book by the end of this camp.

BOARD GAMES $150

with CLAY HUFFAKER | 4th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM This camp is all about having fun with your friends while learning a different board game each day. Campers will learn a new game before playing and engaging in competition with other campers. KIDS IN THE KITCHEN $175 with BETH ANN GREEN | 4th-8th 1 PM-4 PM This is an incredible hands-on cooking opportunity. Join us for a fun week of menu planning, preparation, and cooking! All materials are provided and are nut-free. Campers will create delicious treats while learning new cooking skills. Parents will be invited to a tasting on the final day of class.

HAND BUILDING WITH CLAY $175

FLY FISHING $175 with CLAY HUFFAKER | 5th-12th 9 AM-12 PM During fly fishing camp, students will learn the basics of fly fishing including technique, fly tying, knot tying, fly identification, hook setting, and the basic fly cast. Little to no experience is required; this is for beginners who want to learn how to fly fish. Campers will be able to practice at local ponds and safe sections of rivers around the area catching bluegill, bass, trout, and perhaps some other interesting local fish. Fly fishing is a beautiful, calming, and peaceful activity that can provide students with a chance to be still and experience the beauty of God’s world. A fly rod (and reel) rigged with floating line and tippet is required for this camp. If you do not have one, or need recommendations for one, let us know.

with MIA BAKER | 6th-8th | 9 AM-12 PM This camp will be an introduction into the incredibly versatile material of clay. Through techniques like slab and coil building, campers will learn how to create many different forms out of clay. Additionally, they will learn how to incorporate design into pieces with different surface decorating techniques like sgraffito. From a slab built mug to a coil built bowl, everyone will come home with exciting, personalized creations.


MESSY ADVENTURES $175

with PAIGE TURNER | PREK-2nd | 1 PM-4 PM Come join us for a week of messy games, crafts, and adventures. Campers will be guaranteed to get messy with shaving cream, paint, and many other creative activities.

BUILD & PLAY UKULELE $175 with KIRK WARD | 4th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM Find out why the ukulele is one of the easiest and most fun instruments to play. Campers will learn the history and design of the instrument as well as how to play chords and melodies. Campers will get to build their very own ukulele! The camp is led by CCS Director of Band.

with Coach TYLER ROBERTSON K-8th | 9 AM-12 PM Come spend a week improving your skills in the game of soccer. This camp will work on technical and tactical soccer skills. It will be a great week for those who want to learn the basics or those who want to improve and gain knowledge of soccer. Representatives from the Lady Red Wolves will be assisting with this camp.

with JENNY MCCREARY K-5th | 1 PM-4 PM Come enjoy a week of tea parties and pampering. This camp will be sure to make you relax and have fun!


PRINTMAKING & SCREEN PRINTING $150 with ELIZABETH JOHNSON 5th-12th | 1 PM-4 PM Come learn the basics of printmaking and screen printing. Campers will spend the week learning about the elements of design. Campers will gain an understanding of the screen printing process, and how to carve linoleum plates.

CAKE WARS $175

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMP $225

with Coach CLAY HUFFAKER 5th-8th | 9AM-12 PM (9 AM-4 PM on Friday, the 10th) Come discover the adventures of Chattanooga. This camp will include the adventures of zip-lining at Ruby Falls, climbing at High Point, hiking on Lookout Mountain, and experiencing the high ropes course at Adventure Guild. On Friday campers will raft the Hiwassee River. Campers are guaranteed a week of fun and adventure.

PHOTOGRAPHY $175 with HEATH AUSTIN 6th-9th | 9 AM -12 PM Are you looking to improve your Insta game? Campers will learn to shoot portrait style photos while using the manual settings on a digital camera. Bringing your own digital camera is recommended but not required.

with PAIGE TURNER | 4th-8th 9 AM-12 PM Come learn the art of creating cakes and cookies. Each day campers will learn the art of baking, decorating, and creating displays of yummy treats!

with ELIZABETH JOHNSON 3rd - 6th | 1 PM - 4 PM Come spend the week learning the process of preparing a canvas and working with oil paints. Come make beautiful paintings and creations.

NINJA WARRIOR $175 with Coaches CLAY HUFFAKER & TYLER ROBERTSON | 1st-6th 9 AM - 12 PM Want to explore some basic Ninja Warrior activities? Come learn basic dance steps and then learn how to combine them to create fun, energetic dance routines! This camp is great for dancers, cheerleaders, musical theatre kids, or kids that just want to learn some choreography!

Using Scratch coding, campers will have the opportunity to create games, stories, or music by coding characters to do things. Let’s see what you can create! FLAG FOOTBALL $150 with Coach CLAY HUFFAKER 3rd-5th | 9 AM-12 PM CCS Lower School Flag Football Camp is designed to teach the basic skills of football to young athletes. Skills taught include throwing, catching, running, and other key fundamental skills and techniques of the game. Campers will also be taught basic concepts of offensive and defensive play. Team work and team building will be taught in this fun, interactive camp.

with JOSH GREEN | PreK-5th 1 PM-4 PM Campers will learn basic art techniques to experiment and create original pieces of artwork within a variety of mediums including watercolor, scratchboard, and pen-and-ink. This camp will take place in the CCS art studio and will be taught by the Lower School art teacher. He is a father to four, artist, and musician, and enjoys establishing wonder and curiosity regarding all things creative.

CAMP ROCK $150 with KIRK WARD 4th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM Ever want to join a band? Can you play an instrument or sing? If so, this is the camp for you. Come join us for a week of fun learning how to put together a rock band. This camp is led by CCS Director of Band.

NAILED IT! $175 with LAUREN HILKERT 4th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM Have you ever looked at a craft and thought, “I can make that”? It’s time to put your skills to the test. Campers will be given a craft and the supplies to replicate the design. This is a chance to figure out how crafting works.

with JOSH GREEN & ANDREW MEADOR 5th-12th | 9 AM-12 PM In this camp, students will learn how to create their own music using a digital DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). We will learn the basics of recording, learn how to make simple loops, and learn how to combine digital loops with audio recording. We will explore the different stages of the recording process—tracking drums & adding digital drum beats, tracking bass lines, recording lead instruments such as guitar or keyboard, and tracking vocals.


ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATRE $375 with MARY CATHERINE SCHIMPF 7th-12th | 10 AM-3 PM This Workshop is an advanced, auditionbased Musical Theatre Intensive! Campers will explore more advanced levels of singing, dancing, and acting in musicals to prepare them for higher levels of musical theatre performance. PREREQUISITES If you have performed in 2+ High School musicals at CCS or 2+ Middle School musicals at CCS, consider this Workshop. This camp will be led by CCS Head Cheerleading Coach.

SOFTBALL $150 with Coach LISA GRAY | 1st-8th | 9 AM-12 PM This is a great camp for your daughter to learn the fundamental skills of the game of softball in a positive learning environment. There will be CCS coaches and players to ensure that your daughter receives the utmost personal attention. Fielding skills include the fundamentals of ground balls, fly balls, throwing form, cut offs, and relays. Catching instruction includes blocking, quick release techniques, and framing. Hitting skills include the fundamentals of a swing including proper hand placement, stride length, and timing. We will also organize drills and stations that promote bat speed, lower body rotation, contact point, and pitch recognition. This camp will be led by CCS Head Softball Coach.

HAND BUILDING WITH CLAY $175 with MIA BAKER 3rd-5th | 1 PM-4 PM This camp will be an introduction into the incredibly versatile material of clay. Through techniques like slab and coil building, campers will learn how to create many different forms out of clay. Additionally, they will learn how to incorporate design into pieces with different surface decorating techniques like sgraffito. From a slab built mug to a coil built bowl, everyone will come home with exciting, personalized creations.

ADULTING 101 $150 with Coach CLAY HUFFAKER 5th-8th | 1 PM-4 PM Looking for a camp that will teach some of the important aspects of being an adult? This camp is the one for you. Campers will focus on things such as compound interest, taxes, balancing a checking account, changing a tire, and much more.

Parents will receive an email the week prior to camp with a list of the required items for the Specialty Camps. For a more comprehensive list, please visit ccsk12.com/summer. IS LUNCH INCLUDED WITH DAY CAMP? Yes! Lunch is included for all campers who attend any of the CCS Day Camp programs—including 1/2 Day Camp Add-ons. FOR EXAMPLE: If your camper is attending CCS Day Camp, then lunch is included in the cost of the camp. If your camper is attending 1 Specialty Camp along with a 1/2 Day Camp Add-on, then lunch is included in the cost of the camps. IS LUNCH AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE FOR CAMPERS ATTENDING SPECIALTY CAMPS? Yes. For an additional $30 lunch can be provided for campers attending 2 Specialty Camps in a single day. FOR EXAMPLE: Campers attending Fairy Princess Camp from 9 AM to 12 PM and then attending Cheer Camp from 1 PM to 4 PM, may purchase a lunch for an additional $30. • Lunch is also available for an additional $30 for camps that last a full day. • Lunch is not available for Horseback Riding and Chattanooga Explorers because these camps are off campus. • Lunch is not available for purchase for campers who attend only one Specialty Camp per day. Campers are welcome to bring lunch from home as long as it is nut-free. However, refunds are not available campers who decide to eat lunch from home rather than the lunch included in their camp.

ESTIONS? ANSWERS. I FORGOT TO REGISTER. CAN I STILL GET INTO THE CAMP? Our camps fill up fast, so register early! Registration is open until each camp has reached its maximum number of campers or the start of camp. If the camp is full, you will have the option to be added to the wait list. WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY? All cancellation and refund requests must be made by email or in writing. After May 1, a fee of $30 will apply to each camp canceled. No refunds will be issued after the session has started. IF I SIGN UP FOR A SPECIALTY CAMP, CAN I MAKE IT A FULL DAY? CCS offers multiple options for a full day of camp. You may register for a Specialty Camp and add a half day of Day Camp for an additional $80, or you may choose two Specialty Camps. MY CHILD IS ATTENDING TWO SPECIALTY CAMPS. WILL I HAVE TO PICK THEM UP AT THE END OF THE FIRST CAMP AND BRING THEM BACK FOR THE SECOND CAMP? No, your camper will go to the Lunch Pavilion between camps for lunch and enjoy some down time.
