It’s won 34 titles in all with a majority (16) coming in the Dr Pepper Classic formerly held around New Year’s in the Scenic City. - This is just the second meeting with Coastal Carolina. The first came in the 1996 Dr Pepper Classic, a 75-69 win. The Mocs are 16-3 all-time against current Big South Conference schools: 1-0 Charleston Southern, 1-0 Coastal Carolina, 0-1 Gardner-Webb, 1-0 High Point, 2-1 Liberty, 2-0 Longwood, 6-0 UNC Asheville, 2-0 Presbyterian, 1-1 Radford. Chattanooga topped the Panthers 68-61 in the first round en route to the title. - The Mocs were 12-2 in McKenzie Arena last season and are 14-2 under Will Wade at home. - The Battle 4 Atlantis event this week affords Chattanooga the opportunity to host what is a strong mid-major field. Robert Morris has won two straight NEC titles and boasts NIT wins the last two seasons over Kentucky (2013) and St. John’s (2014). CHAOS CHAOS is the Chattanooga Mocs basketball brand and identity. Will Wade came to Chattanooga with a very specific vision for his team, on and off the court. Chaos is that vision.

HEAD COACH WILL WADE - Head Coach Will Wade is 20-18 in his second season as a head coach. This is his first meeting with Coastal Carolina. - The 18 wins in year one were the most for the Mocs since the same total in 2008-09. - Wade is 14-2 at home, 5-14 away and 1-2 in neutral site contests in his career. - Wade is a 2005 graduate of Clemson. He has worked with current collegiate head coaches Larry Shyatt (Wyoming), Oliver Purnell (DePaul), Tommy Amaker (Harvard) and Shaka Smart (VCU) at Clemson, Harvard and VCU, respectively. - Wade’s staff includes a former head coach, Wes Long (Queens, 2009-13), former Mocs standout Casey Long (2004-07) and Brooks Savage. Savage was the Director of Basketball Ops a season ago before his promotion. Alex Wharton filled that spot with Jordan Clark (Graduate Manager), Trey Draper (Graduate Manager) and Antonio Stabler (Video Coordinator) rounding out the staff.

FOR STARTERS - Chattanooga comes off an 18-15 campaign with the second-place finish in the Southern Conference at 12-4. Three of five starters and seven of 12 letter winners are back for year two of the Will Wade Era. - The Mocs return 61.03% percent of their scoring, 58.3% of their rebounding, 68.03% of their assists, 33.9% of their blocks and 68.1% of their steals. - Departed star forward Z. Mason accounted for 22.5% of the team’s 2013-14 scoring, 24.3% of the rebounding and 54.8% of the blocks. Seven of the top nine scorers from last year are back. - Chattanooga led the league in rebound margin (+1.8) and blocked shots (5.1). STATS STAT! - Greg Pryor is shooting the ball well to start the season. He leads the Mocs making 55.6 percent (1527) from the field and is second from 3pt range at 46.7 percent (7-15) from 3pt range. Those numbers are up from 31.5 percent (FG) and 17.5 percent (3pt) a year ago. - Pryor made a career-high three treys yesterday against Robert Morris. - Pryor is averaging 12.5 points over the last two games (21.0 min/gm) shooting 72.7 percent (8-11) from the floor, 66.7 percent (4-6) from beyond the arc and 83.3 percent (5-6) from the free throw line. - Justin Tuoyo has four multi-block games to open the season. His season-high of three came at No. 3 Wisconsin, at Butler and yesterday against Robert Morris. - Ronrico White had a season-high seven assists with zero turnovers in yesterday’s win. - The Mocs are focused on offensive rebounding. Every Tuesday during the season, student-athletes are available in the McKenzie Arena media room from 11 a.m.-Noon. Please make your requests at least 24 hours in advance.

COVERING PRACTICE

UTC basketball practices are closed to the media. There are select practice during the season that are open and the media will be advised well in advance of those occurences.

GAMEDAY PROCEDURES

No UTC coach or player is available to the media prior to gametime.

POSTGAME PROCEDURES

The UTC locker room is closed. For home games, following a 10-minute “cooling off“ period, Wade comes to the media room first followed by visiting team coach (if requested). Selected Mocs follow the visiting coach. Visiting player availability and locker room accessibility depends on that team’s procedures.

SOCON TELECONFERENCE

The Southern Conference hosts a weekly teleconference for its men’s basketball coaches during the spring semester. A complete schedule will be emailed upon release.

SOCON WEEKLY AWARDS

Every Tuesday during the regular season, the Southern Conference announces its Player of the Week. There is also a monthly award that will be announced early in the month following the previous one’s competition.

2014-15 CHATTANOOGA BASKETBALL EARLY SIGNEES - Austin Donaldson: 6’1” point guard from Jonesboro (GA) High School. Considered one of the top point guards in the state of Georgia, he led Dan Maehlman’s Cardinals to the Class 4A state title in his first season as a starter. He averaged 8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He chose Chattanooga over Sun Belt Conference member Troy.
