Dear Fellow Golfer, The Van Miller Hometown Hero Scholarship Golf Tournament wishes to thank all of the sponsors and golfers who participated in the 2011 golfing spectacular last June. Van was in his glory and the sun was at it’s peak. We are looking forward to more fun on the course for this year’s tournament to be held on June 15, 2012. Van Miller is a legend across Western New York and his dream is to keep that legend alive by establishing this Scholarship Fund for 2 students each year. Together we will view existing websites, a first form of social media. To critique its value to the customer. Participants will have a chance to provide feedback as if they were potential customers of this business. Let’s look at the pros and cons of websites; little changes mean a lot. Are you displaying the image you think? What do others see?

3:00 p.m.—WIN (Women In Networking) Group Panel CARN Theater We will see the struggles and triumphs of this group when trying to get a foothold in social media. They will discuss how and why they decided to get into Social Media. Panel members include Suzan Carlson, Michele Alexander, Irene Dobies, and will be led by Elizabeth Gleason. Women In Networking started in May 2006. This group of business women has been meeting once per month and has expanded over the years. In 2011 they launched their own website and have a presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Participants will hear their story and why they decided to branch out into the online world. This will give anyone a good flavor for what to expect!
3:45 p.m.—Let’s regroup! Find out other opportunities we have in store for the coming month. We want to offer more informational discussions on topics our participants would like to see discussed. Our plan is to offer more in-depth programs based on your feedback. We will find the experts-if you help us find the topics. We will use both traditional and social media methods to promote these discussions.
