The first floor seen here is the primary public space, housing the reception area, cafe and a large conference room.
THE SUMMIT HOTEL
The Summit Hotel project as students we were given a shell and required to design the interior while also meeting building code regulations and the programming requirements. An Alberta Building Code assessment was done on the building for both floors to find occupant load, dead end corridor minimums and maximums as well as water closet sizes. All images for this assignment were rendered by hand.
The second floor is dedicated to guests. All rooms were designed personally with a generic shell and room minimums to be met and alter accordingly to the building. As a requirement the floor had to have a Barrier-free suite, one King, two Deluxe suites and the rest Junior suites. A gym and Business center were also required but were not mandatory to be on the second floor.
VIVACE ACADEMY
The Vivace Music Academy was inspired by the Woodwind family. Using curvilinear forms to represent the keys of the flute, oboe, saxophone and clarinet. Material uses of brass, stainless steel and wood express the instruments composition of metal and wood. The greatest challenge of this project is space planning. the building is long and rectangular making it difficult to meet programming requirements. Shown above is the Second floor plan and below is the Third. Both floor plans are rendered in photoshop
MEDICAL CENTRE
The Emergency Centre was a group project designed and rendered by a group member in Photoshop. A triage, waiting area, trauma wing, along with nurses station and patient rooms all are featured in this floor plan. Shown on the page to the right are elevations again rendered by another group member in Photoshop were based off of line-work designed personally created in Auto CAD.

UNIFY AV RETAIL
Retail project was a partner project also paired with the NAIT Business students as clients. My client was Unify AV a home automation company offering not only installation services but also the compatible accessories. To the left is the floor plan created and rendered in Sketch Up by my partner. The design also features a mezzanine for staff offices and an informal meeting area using the twenty foot ceilings to the design advantage.

Emergency Centre waiting area perspective created and rendered in Sketch Up personally. This images allows for better viewing of ceiling feature and expansive windows providing matural light to the space. The same wheat patterened acrylic panel used in the coridors is used behind the TV. Built in planters to seating give the opportunity to introduce natural greenery and promote wellness to entering and exiting patients.

This room allows employees to demonstrate products to their full abilities enable customers to visual how it can work in a practical setting. The room is acoustically sound allowing for these demonstrations without disrupting the rest of the store.
