ABOUT UNIVERSITY Veterinary education activities in Telangana date back to before the state's independence. Also, his Excellency The Nizam of Hyderabad, a Princely kingdom in pre-independence India, established Hyderabad Veterinary Institution on 05-08-1946 as a constituent college of Osmania University. Moreover, Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University was established in 1964 on the lines of the Land Grant Pattern of Farm Universities in the United States, with headquarters in Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, and administrative control over all Agricultural, Veterinary, and Home Science colleges and Research Stations. As a result, the Veterinary Science faculty stayed inside the University until 2005.

HISTORY However, the university formed in 1946 as Hyderabad Veterinary College as a member institution of Osmania University. In addition, it founded in 1964 and was managed by the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University until 2005, when the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University established, separating veterinary institutes. Furthermore, following the reorganisation of Andhra Pradesh and the formation of Telangana, the Sri P V Narasimha Rao Telangana State University for Veterinary, Animal, and Fishery Sciences created by an Act of the Government of Telangana in 2014. Also, the PV Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University renamed.
