Department of Business and Economics The department of business and economics offers a major in Business Administration with concentrations in Management, Finance, Human Resource Management, and International Business. The curriculum and instructional methods are geared towards providing students the knowledge base and professional skills necessary to be productive and successful careers in business or government, and for graduate school. The coursework for a major in Business Administration requires a completion of 69 credit hours with a grade C or better.

(April 30)The Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to reduce tobacco use among Priority Populations will award a total of $10,000 annually for up to two candidates to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution of higher education in the United States. The scholarship will be a fitting tribute to a gifted artist and dedicated public servant who has contributed greatly to the groundbreaking capacity-building work of the foundation on behalf of Priority Populations. Eligibility Criteria - Applicants will have to supply documentation of financial need for scholarship funds - Full-time students pursuing a course of study in public health, communications, social work, education, liberal arts or a related field. - Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0 for the most recent academic year - Applicants must provide evidence of service to a community in an economically or socially disadvantaged setting; involvement in volunteer activities such as outreach, peer counseling to prevent the use of tobacco, drugs or alcohol or other efforts of benefit to a local community should be described in a personal statement Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) Scholarship Awards(May31) Each year, the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF), awards scholarships on a competitive basis to undergraduate and graduate students who show a commitment to pursuing careers in direct/interactive marketing. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated interest in the direct/interactive marketing field.
