“Since March last year the people of Cheltenham have continued to work really hard to reduce their waste and make sure they are recycling – a big thank you and please keep sorting your recycling and thinking about how much waste is in your bin. If you want help and advice take a look at our website www.cheltenham.gov.uk/recycling “Great news, in May this year we introduced the kerbside collection of coffee pods, so now the plastic, aluminium and coffee from these is also recycled. Sign up at podback.org “Ubico, and all their staff, has kept all our services going during the lockdown and are still doing this really well. Please keep supporting them.” Councillor Iain Dobie, cabinet member for waste, recycling and street services

Who are Ubico? Ubico is a council owned company that delivers environmental services for 7 councils across Gloucestershire and West Oxfordshire, including Cheltenham Borough Council. You may have seen our staff collecting your bins and recycling, mowing grass, tending parks and play areas, and cleaning your streets. I would like to congratulate the residents of Cheltenham on your recycling achievements during these unusual times, and thank you for the support you have shown to our staff. From pictures in windows and on bins, to cold drinks left out on hot days for our crews, social media posts to formal thank you letters, we have been so delighted to receive them all and it has made a huge difference to our teams through these challenging times thank you!
