This interactive exhibition across the festival site explores British artist Mal Dean’s illustrations of jazz musicians during the 1960s and 70s. Jazz pioneer Sun Ra may have departed this world, but his influential big band is very much alive. Led by alto saxophonist and long-time Ra collaborator Marshall Allen, the Arkestra bring interplanetary swing, funk and doo-wop to the Big Top in a joyous burst of tightly organised madness.
