Concert for Schools

Followed by Music Explorer sessions

Cheltenham Town Hall, Main Hall

Primary school children from across Gloucestershire are guaranteed a thrilling introduction to live classical music at this vibrant and interactive concert featuring Gloucestershire Youth Chamber Orchestra alongside professional musicians. Following the concert every child will get their hands on a selection of orchestral instruments in the ever-popular Music Explorer sessions.

Musicate

Musicate is our flagship programme to support music making in primary schools. We’ll be launching the updated programme at this year’s Festival. Now even more teachers, young music leaders and children will benefit from the bespoke training and development that Musicate offers.

Our Relaxed Concert for Schools is specifically devised to welcome children, young people and teachers from SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools. The relaxed atmosphere allows children to respond naturally to the music, and they can interact with the musicians both during and after the concert.

School Workshops

Musicate alumni have created engaging and interactive workshops for primary school pupils to make and enjoy music. With inspirational music as the starting point, children will explore musical building blocks, and delve into their imaginations to create and perform their own pieces.
