YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR PHASE 1 A&E OPENING ON 24 AUGUST 2015 The first phase of the biggest capital scheme Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has undertaken since it opened 20 years ago is nearing completion and we are excited to invite you to attend an exclusive preview of our new A&E facility phase 1 works. These include Majors, ED ward, imaging unit and fracture clinic. Once the full £12million redeveloped A&E opens in the summer of 2016, we will have more space and additional staff to treat more than 112,000 patients a year. CREATING A NEW STANDARD OF HEALING ENVIRONMENT

Designs and plans of works by Brian Eno, Soundscaper; Steffi Muller, award-winning set designer and theatre director; Andy Goldworthy, Richard Woods, sculptor and Matt Pyke, immersive digital environment designer who specialises in interactive digital works for public spaces will also be available to view at the Opening event.

CW+’s art and design plans aim to minimise anxiety and improve clinical outcomes, such as reduced waiting times, stress, pain and faster recovery. Current designs that will be available to view at the A&E Opening on 24 August 2015 include: Jasmine Szu-Ying Chen’s adaptation of William Morris designs along with old medical sketches of the human body in our Fractures clinic

OPPORTUNITY TO GET INVOLVED IN A KIDNEY CHARITY CONSULTATION A charity branding agency, Spencer du Bois, is looking for GPs to take part in thirty minute telephone interviews. RESEARCH UPDATE: PAIN IN NEUROPATHY STUDY

GP SURVEY PRIZE DRAW WINNER ANNOUNCED

A multicentre study led by researchers at the University of Oxford would like to recruit people aged over 18 who have diabetes and neuropathy to a study of the causes of neuropathic pain. Participants accepted into the study will be asked to complete a set of questionnaires at the beginning of the study and one year after the study appointment. A single visit lasting approximately 2.5 hours will aim to characterise deeply the main factors influencing the development of neuropathic pain. A number of tests and some samples will be obtained during this visit. Participants will be seen at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. For more information please contact

When to use the service?

Exclusions?

Referring patients for a routine outpatient appointment. These should be made via Choose and Book or faxed to the appointment office on 0203 315 8814 Non-clinical queries i.e. chasing missing discharge or outpatient letters Calls from patients (please don’t share this number with patients)
