S T U D I O - E A RT H INDIGENOUS MUSEUM
The earth studio asks students to design a museum at herring island park which is located in the yarra river, 4 kilometers upstream from Melbourne central business.
The brief shows that the museum should have a staff office; a ticket counter; a storage space; a reconcilation garden; a colonisation place and an indigenous place to show the history; also a stage and other service space should be involved in this design.

BOATHOUSE DESIGN - 2012
D E S I G N F E AT U R E S
There are several important aspects of Alvar Aalto’s design. The first character which I have involved in my design is connecting design with nature.
The second significant feature of Aalto’s design is the organic sharp. Also my design involves this idea. Look at my plan, it demonstrates this idea clearly.
The third significant feature of Aalto’s design is interior design. Aalto does not like build brilliant light in his design. In my interior design I use the warm light instead of brilliant light.
S T U D I O - S PA R K SHERLOCK HOLMES T H E AT E R “The Conan Doyle Mystery Theatre,” which will be dedicated to the staging of murder mystery plays. The body of the theatre will consist of: (1) a 500-seat prosceniumtheatre named to commemorate the Irish-American actor William Desmond (1878 – 1949) who played Holmes in the 1911 Australian production of The Speckled Band; (2) a 250-seat “black box” or experimental theatre named in honour of the Canadian-American actor Cuyler Hastings (1863 – 1914) who played Holmes in the 1901 Australian production of Sherlock Holmes; (3) a 250-seat cinema named after the New ZealandAustralian actor Harry Plimmer who also played Holmes in the 1901 Australian production of Sherlock Holmes.

I decided to use circle plan as I want to emphasise the observation which is through people’s eye and a circle only have one centre just like every crime only have one truth. Holmes, without doubtfully, has a very brilliant brain. So he can think and act quickly than any other people. Besides, he pays attention to every detail that is why he can find out something which may be ignored by any other people. A brilliant brain and a pair of eye are the most important tool for him. I would like to design a building which has an eye plan and every important place such as theatre, cinema and black box are all arranged in this circle as a way to emphasise their importance. About the material, I choose bluestone as the main material not only it is one of the typical material in Melbourne, it also gives people a sense of crime. And I use red column and grey glass to give audiences a sense of mystery and scene of crime. Also, I design a rolling screen on the third level as a way to make the building more like a theatre not a jail. The restaurant behind the rolling screen is half of the whole restaurant as I cut the restaurant into two. These two parts of restaurant have been designed into two different experience for users. One half express the feeling of brightness and another half express the feeling of darkness

STUDIO-AIR PA R A M E T R I C D E S I G N The air studio asks students to create a gateway for wyndhamn city by using the digital software "rhino" and "grasshopper"
Studio AIR explores the impact of computation on architectural design. This exploration is important because approaches falling under the umbrella term of “digital architectural design have developed into the most vibrant and influential areas in contemporary architectural discourse and practice.

Flying birds Towards a meaningful direction The most significant feature of a successful design is there should have some meaning behind the design. As such, I start to search for an interesting character of the Wydham city that we could tap into. My aim is to find an element that could represent the Wydham City. Souring the Wydham City, we know Wyndham and its surrounding district has an exciting list of about 200 bird species in a variety of habitats. Therefore, I think I can use the idea of the bird to generate my design. I choose “bird” as a concept idea not just for showing the Wyndham city is an important inhabit place for birds but also the sysmbolic meaning of the bird is quite significant. Most of us see birds as a symbol of freedom, or even as symbols of the future. Their ability to soar high into the sky and their proximity with the sky makes them desirable for humans who cannot fly without substitute wings. From time immemorial, mankind has considered birds to be signs of proposal for the future. Also, based on the kinetic feature of our design, I believe that I could generate a “bird” shape membrane, as the wind pass by, each piece of the membrane mimics flying birds, which symbolizes Wyndam City will be prosperous in the future. The gateway project willing to represents the entire appearance of Wyndam City that is “flying” towards to a large development in different aspects in the near future.
