This rendering picture is exported from Twinmotion with Path Tracing and Global Illumination features. The background environment is also given as a rendering parameter in Twinmotion. There is no PS used for after production.

The picture of foyer is rendered with being given both artificial illuminating and passive lighting from all the openings in the space.

The reflection of the direct sunlight on the couch not only reveals the texture of the fabric but also makes a realistic shadow in the area.

A custom villa designed for a client in the rural area of Headingley. The villa is designed for the purpose of having a weekend gateway but also functions as a home office.

JASON WU 18 Part One - c Concept Design

The exterior wall provides maximum sunlight into the villa and connects the space on both sides, giving a continuity of the view.

The atrium introduces the natural light into the dining and kitchen area. The concrete wall behind the statue provides the privacy to the master bedroom.

The curved concrete wall protects the privacy for the bedroom, however the exterior wall opens the views on both sides and creates the connection between the interior and exterior view.

This studio with 7 projects is aimed to explore the spatial relationship between two dimensional objects in order to create a form with balance, rhythm, contrast, movement, proportion etc. And students are asked to bring the concept into three dimensional space for further study the impact of three dimensional space on the two dimensional form.

JASON WU 28 Part Two - Studio Work

Once the evolved three dimensional form being created, new features will brought into the objects such as opennnings and height adjustment of base plane. Those new changes will once again bring impacts on balance, rhythm, contrast, movement, proportion, students need to manipulate the forms for the sake of the aesthetics.

29 JASON WU Part Two - Studio Work

After the final form of the project taking shape, students are required to use the bubble diagram to conduct a study for the relationship between form and function and give sense to the space for both solid and void form of the three dimensional work.

JASON WU 30 Part Two - Studio Work

The last project will focus on developing the floor plan and modeling for certain space or area. Students are encouraged to use all the possible materials to construct their own models. With the introducing real world materials into the projects, the color and texture will bring another challenge for the project that should be loyal to its original purpose in terms of balance, rhythm, contrast, movement, proportion and the sense of the space.

31 JASON WU Part Two - Studio Work

A rendering picture shows the spatial relationship among the three main structures in the project.
