Lighthouse Renovation

LOCATION:\

INDIVIDUAL WORK | 2021.10-2022.01

This project was inspired by an animated cartoon: INCARNATION, in which people suffered a crisis and had to condense their living space into a fortress in the sky: the lighthouse, in which people were divided into different levels, with strict hierarchy and strict order. people are divided into different grades by physical and mental factors, and people with the lowest status have no freedom and they have to live in the smallest room, just 6㎡.In the lighthouse, everyone needs to make a contribution to the lighthouse. The greater the contribution, the higher the survival materials and living status.

So want to transform this lighthouse into a place where everyone has enough living space. The choice of living environment only depends on the number of people, where people can choose their favorite lifestyle relatively freely.

I reorganized the functions of the original lighthouse on different relatively independent islands. Each island is connected by a floating traffic space, which represents their independent and integral living complex. The fortress image of the original lighthouse has also become the image of a more open floating island. Here, people are no longer defined by genes, but are free to choose their own lives.

Background

In the doomsday, the air prison Crooks escaped and changed its name to Lighthouse.

In this place divided into two institutions, light and shadow club which is a church and hunters who are searching resources on the ground.

Mark saw his sister killed in front of the crowd because of love when he was young.

Mark rebelled against the system and broke with management for love.He was to be banished to the ground. But the Old Town owner's sudden illness was so severe that Mark's exile from the ground was suspended.

Treatment was abandoned because the Old Town owner was ruled to have no medical value. But Mark decided to find resources for the Old Town master to treat him in order to break the original rule. Unfortunately, there was betrayal in the middle of finding resources.

After being forced by the Light and Shadow Club after Mark became a monster, he began to resist, destroying the lighthouse, and finally the management decided to remove some of the lighthouse.

Mark destroyed the tower and later went to the ground and saw another group of people living on the ground who are the completely different.

Flexibility of Form

The function of the island will change its height according to whether there is enough energy, and at the same time, the transportation system will be adjusted accordingly because of the change of the island. Therefore, this residential complex will choose a more reasonable form under different energy conditions.

Block D is a small comprehensive group, including single, double and extended family residential groups, but the main apartment type is still Unit B, which can accommodate at least 17 people.

Unit A+Unit B+Unit C+Unit D=Block E

Block E tries to put most of the apartment units together to meet the needs of all groups of people. It can accommodate at least 15 people here.

2*Unit A+Unit B+Unit C+Unit D=Block F

On the basis of Block E, Block F adds a unit B, which can accommodate at least 17 people.

Residential modules are initially placed from the core tube.

Then residential modules grow along horizontal traffic.

Next, the residential module is paved with a floor.

the first the second the third the forth the fifth finally

In the process of downward growth, residential modules also grow outward along the horizontal traffic.

The residential module spreads the first floor and grows down along the vertical traffic.

Finally, according to the demand of the population, the residential block grows to form a tubular residential group.

City Development Units Combination

Small population Large population

When the population is small, the residential modules are sparsely arranged around the core tube to form a residential area. The choice and composition of these residential modules are determined by the resident population. The residential modules are connected with other residential modules through vertical traffic and horizontal traffic among them, so that these residential modules are not independent, but interconnected.

When the population is large, the residential modules are closely arranged around the core tube, and grow downwards and around to form a residential area. Because of the close arrangement of these residential modules and their own connection between vertical traffic and horizontal traffic, each unit can interact and connect with other units. At the same time of population growth, the shape of residential area is becoming more and more tubular, and finally it reaches a huge tubular residential area.

LOCATION:RIGA,

The project is located in Riga, Latvia. The Silent Meditation Forest Cabins is a collaboration with Ozolini Teamakers, run by Brigita and Dima Lukini. The couple want to build a cabin in this forest for meditation and tea. The design of this log cabin provides a tea room for drinking tea and chatting, a reading area, a meditation area and a bedroom.

This wooden house provides people with basic living conditions. People can meditate and think in front of large floor-to-ceiling windows, or sit on the sofa and chat with friends.

This wooden house also adopts some small mechanisms, and the wooden wall can move after the mechanism is pressed. After that, an open space is added to the wooden house, in which people can get in touch with nature directly, which increases the chance for people to get in touch with nature.

Evolution

Development of city village in Shenzhen YEAR 1990 YEAR 1986 YEAR 1980 YEAR 1940

In the early stage of reform and opening up, Shenzhen was still a small fishing village, without any modern facilities, and its population was only about 130,000.

After the reform and opening up, Shenzhen started to set up factories to strengthen trade with Hong Kong. At this time, the population of Shenzhen began to rise.

With the establishment of factories, more and more people come to Shenzhen to work, and the population is increasing.

At the same time, with the return of Hong Kong to China and the establishment of Luohu Port, more and more Hong Kong people also come to Shenzhen.

country village: The land area of urban villages accounts for 35% of the total construction land. Because the rent of urban villages is low, many lowincome people choose to rent here. NOW YEAR 2010 YEAR 1999

Due to the increase of population, Luohu District, which is close to Hong Kong, has become the most developed area in Shenzhen.

marketable housing: The area of commercial housing accounts for only 22% of the total construction area, and the price increases year by year, resulting in only 40% of the total population living in commercial housing.

The original residents of Luohu District began to build villages in the city, which were rented by migrant workers and businessmen from Hong Kong.

Xiangxi Village has a growing population because it is close to Luohu Port and many factories have been built nearby. Up to now, it is one of the villages in Shenzhen with a large population.

The newly built sloping roofs can also provide people with activity places. People can do outdoor activities on these sloping roofs and flat roofs, which can increase the activity space of community residents and the types of activities of community residents. In addition, some openings on the sloping roof connect the indoor and outdoor spaces of the whole roof, making the whole roof space form a whole flowing space form, so that residents can reach any place on the roof without going downstairs to another building.

The roof was built to provide a new activity space for the community, and the activity venue was changed from the ground to the roof. In this roof, there will be two streamline lines for people's activities. One is the space under the sloping roof. These spaces are provided for people's activity venues, where people can set up stalls to sell goods and take a walk with their family and friends. Because these spaces are designed around the inner courtyard of the community, you can enjoy the scenery of the inner courtyard of the community while you are active in these spaces.

INSTRUCTOR:HONG ZHOU ZH-2008111@163.COM

The project is located in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China. As a historic community, this community not only needs to create better living conditions for local residents, but also needs to attract tourists and bring some tourism resources to the community. Therefore, the site selection of the six plots not only considers the impact of the unique building types in the community, but also considers that the impact scope of the six reconstructed buildings needs to cover most of the community, and considers the needs of community residents and tourists in terms of functional distribution. In the post epidemic era, the demand for medical resources is increasing rapidly. Therefore, each building has a fixed medical space, and they all have part of the space as changeable space. In special cases, these spaces will be transformed into medical space.

The composition of this community in Macao is very complicated, with many elderly people, low-income people, people with low education, students, outsiders and so on. However, the internal streamline of this community is chaotic, and people living here feel very inconvenient about it. Therefore, on this basis, we hope to create a community that is friendly to all people. For this reason, we divided this community into three high-rise buildings. In these buildings, the business model is on the ground floor, and the residential areas are divided according to age groups and placed at different heights of these three high-rise buildings. In order to be friendly to the elderly, we specially set up an elderly activity center on the ground floor, so that the elderly in this community can have more professional and systematic care.

The two air platform corridors in this community are designed with different landscaping, and are separated into different functional areas by paving, such as rest area, recreation area, landscape viewing area, etc. These areas provide more activity places for residents in the community, so that this platform not only has the function of transportation, but also has the function of making people stay for activities.

In these three buildings, roof greening and areas for people's activities are also designed. These roof spaces are designed for residents. In these spaces, residents can experience the experience of enjoying the park landscape when they go out.

The purpose of these greening designs is to enable these residents to go out and see the natural environment in high-density communities. Even though their living space is not large, they still hope that they can have a park environment outside their homes, so that they can stop and get in touch with nature after living and working.
