Introduction

This planner journal is designed to support the integration of yogic principles

into your daily lifestyle to strengthen your mind, body and spirit. You are invited

to consider using it as a tool to help balance your chakras and your doshas. By providing you with reminder charms to practice yoga in all of its glorious forms:

asana, pranayama, dhyana, etc., you have a better opportunity to make small and simple actions that culminate into big results. Ideally, you will cultivate a life full of joy, balance and purpose.

Commit to regularly practicing activities such as asanas and cardio for strength, flexibility, fitness and longevity.

Connect with the breath and perform various breathing exercises throughout the day.

Dedicate time to reflect, meditate and settle the mind. Intentionally engaging in life with authenticity, kindness and purpose fosters a satisfying life. Purposely steer towards the positive with intentional journaling.

4. R ight Nutrition:

Listen to your body and mindfully nourish with food that meets your unique

needs. Making selections that include organic, whole, local and live (within 7 days from the earth) are choices that best support all of your doshas.

5. R ight Relaxation:

Get more done with less by scheduling time for rest, restoration and play for the body and mind.

The Primary Energy Centers

Having balanced energy centers strengthen your inner resources and allow all of the five pillars to be executed to their fullest potential. The seven chakra-

focused pages each showcase seven asanas, a mudra, and a mantra that help balance a specific chakra. Use some or all in a practice to fortify your focus for the day.

MUDRAS:

The Facilitators of the Flow of Energy in the Subtle Body

Use your hands to balance the life force energy (prana) flowing within your subtle body. Mudras help transform your state of consciousness. Those

included in this planner journal support each of the chakras and can help boost your meditation, pranayama or pre-asana practice. Use them as matched or use a combination that best matches your needs for the day.

MANTRAS:

Words Create

Energize your thoughts and emotions with a mantra every day. Mantras are

sacred words that have energetic spiritual qualities when spoken. Here are just

a few but feel free to create your own. Repeat to yourself as many times as you can per day. Consider holding a matching mudra or mala beads at the same time to super charge your intention.

The Body and Mind Connector

There are theories that state if we all just breathed

properly we could heal all of our ills. Give yourself the gift of breath and life by practicing every day, even if it is just a minute. There are many beneficial breathing exercises, included are just a few. Once you discover the one that resonates with you, write it in the empty row for easy

referencing. There a few listed as a reminder, for your

exploration or to learn from an experienced instructor.

MEDITATIONS:

Meditations can be used to strengthen focus, to calm

Mudras Anjali mudra

“This gesture signifies the potential for an intention to progress to greatest spiritual awakening.” - Krishnamacharya

Anjali is Sanskrit and means, “to offer” or “salutation.” It Is often used at the

beginning or at the end of an asana practice. It helps to ground and create personal intention of the day’s practice. Good for grounding and centering.

Ganesha mudra

Ganesha is from the Hindi mythology. Lord Ganesha is the remover of all

obstacles. Consider using to triumphantly move through the challenges of a hectic day. It increases the energy as well as to improve the digestion in

the body. Use it to help remove stress, lessen anxiety and boost your mood.

Bhramara mudra

Bhramara means bee and honey. This mudra is great for boosting the

immune system and alleviating the symptoms of allergies. The sinuses

and air passages may feel more open. The mind may appear more clear

and be easier to make healthier choices, like a balanced diet, lifestyle and establishing personal boundaries.

Vajrapradama mudra

Vajrapradama means thunderbolt in Sanskrit. It has a positive impact on physical and emotional or mental health as it builds trust and self-confidence.

Jnana mudra

Jnana is Sanskrit for “wisdom or knowledge” and is one of the most widely

used during meditation practice. This mudra promotes concentration and regular practice boosts memory. In addition, it calms and stabilizes the mind as well as improving sleep.

Meditations can be used to train for focus, to calm and de-stress, swim in bliss

and more. Expand your meditation toolkit and use the one that best fits your needs and capabilities. Consider mix and matching so you can sprinkle getting them in throughout the day. Remember it is called a practice for a reason.

Guided

There are many types of guided meditations.

Explore various apps or YouTube videos to discover

a meditation and instructor that resonates with you.

Mindful Meditation: Sit. Close your eyes and notice the sensations from 5-Senses

each of your senses saving your eyes for last. Start

with 30 seconds to one minute each and as you master

staying in the noticing and not thinking, extend your time.

Mindful Meditation: Simply notice your breath. If your mind wanders Breath

(everyone’s does), lovingly bring it back to breath.

If you get fidgety consider feeling the different parts of your breath, the air passing through your nostrils, through your throat, in the chest, etc.

Chanting

Repeat a mantra of your choice. The chakra mantras,

like OM or Ram stimulate the specific energy center and promote balance. However, experiment with different sounds to determine what feels best.

Music

Any music without lyrics that calms or focuses your mind works. Consider music tuned to 432 Hz to help relax the body and mind.
