Reedley Football almost got their first win Cherie Smith Sports Reporter/Sports Editor Reedley College Football was able to tie the game at 20 in the fourth quarter, but Sacramento City College took the lead late in the fourth and won, 27-20. The Reedley College Tigers traveled up the 99 to the states’ capital to play #14 Sacramento City College Panthers on Saturday, September 22. It was at Hughes Stadium located at Sacramento City College. The Tigers scored every quarter. Dennis Gallo had a 31 yard field goal early in the first quarter. In the second quarter Gallo hit a 37 yd field goal. Then the Panthers went on a 13 point run. Stell #15 Reedley College Punter Patrick Green threw an 11 yard pass to Kendrick Peeples for a touchdown in the third quarter. Stell threw a 27 yard touchdown pa ss to Terrence Tatume in the fourth quarter to tie the game. Sac City scored the finals points of the game, a 33 yard pass for a touchdown. The Tigers were a yard short of the first down with about 30 seconds in the game. Sean Stell Jr. threw 62 passes with 38 of them being completions. Punter Patrick Green had a fake punt run for approximately 40 yards. In three of the four games this year the Tigers have had a chance to win the game. They lost by 4, 4, and 7 points. The game against San Joaquin Delta was the only non-close game. Next week the Tigers will be play their midpoint game of the season, fifth game of ten games. Reedley’s next game is at home on Saturday, September 29 against Monterey Peninsula College. Kick-off is 7 p.m. at Reedley High’s Sal Gonzalez Field.
