THE FRESNO CARDINALS ENDED THE SERIES WITH THE NEPTUNE BEACH PEARL The Cardinals took one of three games from the Pearl Fresno, CA June 11, 2011 – The Fresno Cardinals continued the series with the Neptune Beach Pearl. The Cardinals won the night before 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth. In the first game the Cardinals and the Pearl each scored a run in the second and were tied until the seven inning when the Pearl took the lead. The Neptune Beach Pearl won 6-1. In the second game, the Pear took the lead in the top of the first inning. The Cardinals got close in the bottom of the third inning, but were unable to tie the game. The Neptune Beach Pearl won 6-3.

The Fresno Cardinals batters had twelve hits, four runs, two doubles, nine walks, three RBIs, and one stolen base in the doubleheader. The Fresno Cardinals turned four double plays in the doubleheader. Zak Colby went 2-5 with 3 walks, and a run. Brain Gaad went 1-3 with a walk. Chris Kuber went 2-5 with two RBIs. Anthony Lopez went 1-3 with a double. LaBronze Sanderson went 1-4 with a walk and a run. Bryce Smith went 1-4. Colton Vaughn went 4-7, with a walk, a double, a stolen base, and run. The score was tied at 1-1. Nate Dalena (Fresno City College) walked with one out in the sixth inning. Colton Vaughn walked and Brian Gaad (Reedley College) singled through the left side. Chris De La Torre came in the seventh inning and pitched the final three innings. The Neptune Beach Pearl scored five runs off of five hits and one error in the seventh. Then a passed ball advanced the runners scoring Zak Colby. Chris Kuber singled up the middle scoring Colton Vaughn. With two out Bryce Smith (Cal State Stanislaus) singled up the middle. The Cardinals scored two runs off of four hits. The Pearl led 5-3. With two out in the fourth LaBronze Sanderson singled through the left side, moved to second on a wild pitch, and moved to third on an error. The Pearl scored one run in the fifth and led 6-3. Chris Kuber singled to shortstop to start off the eighth inning. Sam Donald (Fresno State) walked with one out in the ninth inning. ###
