THE FRESNO CARDINALS PLAYED THE CALIFORNIA GLORY The Cardinals look to continue to series on June 4 Stockton, CA June 3, 2011 – The Fresno Cardinals started off the season playing the California Glory in Stockton. The Fresno Cardinals led in the first inning, but in the bottom of the fourth inning the California Glory took the lead. The Fresno Cardinals lost to the California Glory, 10-4. Zak Colby had four walks. Nate Dalena went 1-4 with a RBI and run. LaBronze Sanderson went 2-5 with a run. Pitcher Michael Jimenez (Fresno Pacific) got the first start of the season for the Fresno Cardinals. He went six and a third innings. He gave up eight hits, six runs, five earned runs, and struck out five.

LaBronze Sanderson (Cuesta College) singled to the pitcher and advanced to second on an error to start off the first inning. Zak Colby (Fresno City College) walked. Cody White (Reedley College) grounded out to first and moved the runners to second and third. Nate Dalena (Fresno City College) reached first on an error and scored LaBronze Sanderson. The Cardinals scored one run off of one hit and one error. They led 1-0. The California Glory scored two runs off of three hits and two errors in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Glory led 2-1. Anthony Lopez (Fresno City College) singled with one out in the fifth inning. LaBronze Sanderson singled and stole second. With two out, Zak Colby walked. The California Glory scored one run off of two hits in the fifth. They led 3-1. With one out, Colton Vaughn (South Mount. CC) singled and stole second in the seventh inning. The California Glory scored three runs off of two hits in the bottom of the seventh inning. They led 6-1. Pitcher Chris De La Torre (Reedley College) came in the seventh inning with one out. He pitched a inning and two thirds. He gave up four hits, four runs, and zero earned runs. Zak Colby walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch to start off the eighth inning. With two out, Nate Dalena singled scoring Zak Colby. Bryce Smith (Cal State Stanislaus) was hit by pitch. A passed ball allowed Bryce Smith and Nate Dalena to advance to second and third.
Connor Williams (Reedley College) walked to load the bases. Colton Vaughn was hit by a pitch to score Nate Dalena. A wild pitch advanced the runners and scored Bryce Smith.
