THE RATTLERS LOSE A HEARTBREAKER IN THE BOTTOM OF THE NINTH Bobby Buckner went 2-for-4 in the game San Luis Obispo, CA (July 1, 2010) – The game was tied at 0-0 going in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Blues got three hits in the bottom of the ninth inning to win 1-0. The Rattlers did not commit an error in the game. This is the fourth game that they did not commit an error. Rattlers starting pitcher Richie Mirowski (Oklahoma Baptist University) went six innings and did not give up a run. He gave up three hits and struck out six. This was his longest outing of the season. Richie Mirowski pitched a season high six innings Justin Crumply (Southwest Baptist) walked with two out in the top of the second inning. Jimmy Allen (Rancho Buena Vista HS/Cal Poly SLO) reached first on an error and moved to second on a wild pitch. He then moved to third on a passed ball with two out. The Rattlers were not able to score him. Robert Vickers (College of the Canyons) walked with two out in the fifth inning. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) singled up the middle with one out in the top of the sixth inning. That was the first hit of the game for the Rattlers. Pitcher Michael Neilebeck (Cuesta College) came in the seventh inning and pitched two innings. He gave up two hits, one earned run, and struck out two. Jimmy Allen singled to right center with one out in the eighth inning. Davey Schultz (Cuesta College) singled to the right side. Then Bobby Buckner singled to the left side to load the bases. The Rattlers were not able to score a run the inning.


Tommy White (Santa Barbara City College) caught a Blues runner trying to steal second base for the third out in the bottom of the eighth inning. Kyle Wise Southwest Baptist) singled up the middle with two out in the top of the ninth. The Blues scored the only run of the game in the bottom of the ninth with two on and two out. Pitcher Jeff Johnson (Cal Poly SLO) came in the bottom of the ninth inning with runners at first and second. He gave up two hits and struck out one, but he was not able to shut down the Blues.
