ROBERT VICKERS WENT 4-FOR-4 TO HELP THE RATTLERS WIN, 4-1 Mitchell Prophet went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs San Luis Obispo, CA (July 17, 2010) – Robert Vickers went 4-for-4 on the night with a double, hit by pitch, a stolen base, and a run. He did not strike out in the game. Team Vegas took an early 1-0 lead off of a steal of home. The Rattlers scored their runs after that and did not let Team Vegas score another run. Jeremy Gonzales (Northern Illinois University) got the start for the Rattlers. He went four innings, gave up three hits, one walk, one earned run, and struck out three. Robert Vickers (College of the Canyons) singled up the middle with one out in the Robert Vickers went 4-for-4 in the game bottom of the first inning. Bobby Buckner (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) reached on a fielder’s choice. Joe Etcheverry (Northern Illinois University) singled up the middle and Tommy White (Santa Barbara City College) walked to load the bases. The Rattlers were not able to score a run in the inning. Team Vegas had runners at every base in the top of the second inning, but the Rattlers were able to keep them from scoring. Matt Anderson (Cuesta College) reached first on an error in the second. He moved to second on a groundout and third on a wild pitch. The only run for Team Vegas came off of a leadoff single in the top of the third and then the runner stole second, third, and home. They took a 1-0 lead. Robert Vickers singled to left field to start off the bottom of third. He then stole second and moved to third on a groundout. Robert Vickers scored on a passed ball. The score was tied at 1-1. Catcher Mitchell Prophet (Cuesta College) caught a Team Vegas base runner trying to steal second for the third out in the fourth inning. Scott Phillion (Central Michigan University) singled to left field to start off the bottom of the fourth inning. He then moved to second on a groundout. Mitchell Prophet singled to right field with one out scoring Scott Phillion. The Rattlers led 2-1.


Michael Nielebeck (Cuesta College) came in the fifth inning and pitching three shutout innings giving up one walk and striking out two. He is 2-2 on the season. Zach Steele (Cuesta College) singled to center field to start off the bottom of the fifth inning. On first pitch Robert Vickers saw he singled to left field. Bobby Buckner bunt singled the first pitch he saw to load the bases. Tommy White grounded out scoring Zach Steele. The Rattled led 3-1. Robert Vickers doubled down the left field line with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. He moved to third on a passed ball. Then Joe Etcheverry walked to put runners and first and third. Todd Simko (Cuesta College) pitched a scoreless eighth inning. He gave up one hit and walked one. Scott Phillion was hit by a pitch to start off the bottom of the eighth inning. Matt Anderson singled to left field. Mitchell Prophet doubled down the left field line scoring Scott Phillion. With two out Robert Vickers was hit by a pitch to load the bases. The Rattler led 4-1. DJ Gunderson (Santa Barbara City College) came in and pitched the top of the ninth to get the save for the Rattlers.
