TEAM VEGAS COMES TO CA TO PLAY THE RATTLERS The SLO Rattlers are 14-17 on the season and 4-16 in CCL play.

San Luis Obispo, CA (July 16, 2010) –

SLO Rattlers vs. Team Vegas Baseball Club The SLO Rattlers will be playing Team Vegas Friday, July 16 at 6:05 p.m.; Saturday, July 17 at 6:05 pm.; and Sunday, July 18 at 1:05 p.m. The last time the Rattlers faced Team Vegas was June 2010 in Nevada for three games. Team Vegas won game one and three and the Rattlers won game two. They started playing each other in 2010. Team Vegas lead the overall series at 2-1. All of the games can be heard on the internet/radio at http://www.slorattlers.com/rattler-radio.

Team Vegas are 10-15 overall. Team Vegas are hitting .237 and Kyle Bilbery leads the way with a .305 batting average. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 5.33 and 216 strikeouts. Team Vegas lost two games to the Santa Barbara Foresters.

Foul Ball Sponsor Foster Enterprises is the foul ball sponsor for the Saturday, July 17 game. That means that fans get to keep the balls they catch in the fan area on July 17, courtesy of Foster Enterprises. Rattlers Batting Stats As a team, the Rattlers are batting .237 with thirty-seven doubles, nine triples, three home runs, and 123 RBIs. Brett Wise has the highest batting average at .417. He has only played in six games. Davey Schultz leads the team with twenty-eight hits. Joe Etcheverry has five doubles. Joe Etcheverry has nineteen RBIs. Robert Vickers has team high fourteen walks. Nigel Morton has a team high two triples. Daniel Howell has two home runs.

Pitching Strikeouts The Rattlers pitching staff has struck out 270 batters this year. On June 2, against the Cal Poly Club Teams, the Rattlers recorded a season high 16 strikeouts. On June 20, against the Santa Maria Valley Packers, the Rattlers recorded a season second best 15 strikeouts. Marc Damon leads the team with the 30 strikeouts.


Stealing Extra Bases The SLO Rattlers are 31 for 39 in stealing extra bases this year. Nigel Morton has the most stolen bases with seven. Six players are perfect when it comes to stealing extra bases.

Going… Going… GONE! On June 2 the Rattlers got their first home run of the season from Daniel Howell. He leads the team with three home runs. He hit a grand slam on July 13 against the Santa Maria Valley Packers.

Rattlers on a Roll The hits continue to come for the Rattlers. Scott Phillion has the longest hitting streak on the team at seven games. He recorded a hit in every game from June 13 to June 23. Davey Schultz has the second longest hitting streak at six games. He recorded a hit in every game from June 30 to July 15. Davey Schultz, Tommy White and Jimmy Allen have the third longest hitting streaks at five games. Davey Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 1 to June 5. Tommy White recorded a hit in every game from June 3 to June 13. Jimmy Allen recorded a hit in every game from July 5 to July 15.

It Takes Two… The Rattlers have turned fifteen double plays this year. On June 13, in the second game of the doubleheader against Team Vegas Baseball Club, the Rattlers turned three double plays.

Searching for the Cycle Joe Etcheverry and Zach Steele have been the only two players this year to come close to hitting for the cycle. They were both a home run shy of the cycle on June 29 at the SLO Blues.

Outfield Goes the Distance Davey Schultz threw out a Santa Maria Pilots runner at home trying to score from second on July 12. ###
