THE SLO RATTLERS ALL-STARS PLAYED GREAT IN THE CCL ALL-STAR GAME All three SLO Rattlers pitchers had two strikeouts
Compton, CA (July 14, 2010) – The six SLO Rattlers all stars and coaches headed to the CCL All-Star game in Compton. The MLB Urban Academy Barons hosted the all-star game. Jo Etecheverry was the only SLO Rattlers player to start the game. He walked once and scored in that inning. Richie Mirowski pitched the top of the third striking out two. Todd Simko pitched the bottom of the third striking out two. Daniel Howell walked twice and scored once. Marc Damon pitched the bottom of the seventh striking out two. Bobby Buckner had one at bat. Joe Etcheverry started for the CCL National batting sixth playing first base. He struck out swinging in the bottom of the second inning with one out. With two out and a runner on at second in the bottom of the fourth inning he walked. Then next batters doubled scoring both runners. Joe Etcheverry played four innings and had four putouts. Richie Mirowski pitched the top of the third for the CCL National. He got the first two batters out on a groundout and a strikeout swinging. The next batter singled and then he got a strikeout swinging for the third out. Todd Simko pitched the bottom of the third for the CCL American. The first two batters he faced struck out swinging and third batter flied out to left field. Daniel Howell came in the top of the sixth inning to pinch hit and then be the designated hitter for the CCL American. There was one out and a runner at third and he walked. Two batters later, Daniel Howell scored on a home run. In the top of the eighth inning, he walked with a runner at first and no one out. With two outs and a runner at third in the top of the ninth, Daniel Howell struck out swinging. Marc Damon pitched for the CCL American in the bottom of the seventh inning. He got the first batter to pop up to third base and the next two batters struck out.
Bobby Buckner came in the top of the eighth inning to pinch hit and then play second base. He came up to bat with runners at first and second and no one out and he grounded out moving the runners to second and third. He had one assist.
