THE RATTLERS HEAD TO SANTA MARIA FOR A SINGLE GAME AGAINST THE PACKERS The SLO Rattlers are 12-17 on the season and 4-16 in CCL play.

SLO Rattlers vs. Santa Maria Valley Packers The SLO Rattlers will be playing the Santa Maria Packers at Elks Field in Santa Maria on Tuesday, July 13 at 6:00 p.m. The last time the Rattlers faced the Packers was June 2010 in a two game series. The Packers won both the games 12-8 and 7-4. They started playing each other in 2008. The Packers lead the overall series at 11-5. The Packers are 16-13 overall. The Packers are hitting .258 and James Brooks leads the way with a .341 batting average. The pitching staff has a combined ERA of 3.87 and 201 strikeouts. The Packers just lost to the SLO Blues 5-3. Rattlers Batting Stats As a team, the Rattlers are batting .231 with thirty-one doubles, nine triples, two home runs, and 106 RBIs. Brett Wise has the highest batting average at .417. He has only played in six games. Davey Schultz leads the team with twenty-five hits. Joe Etcheverry has five doubles. Pitching Strikeouts The Rattlers pitching staff has struck out 257 batters this year. On June 2, against the Cal Poly Club Teams, the Rattlers recorded a season high 16 strikeouts. On June 20, against the Santa Maria Valley Packers, the Rattlers recorded a season second best 15 strikeouts. Richie Mirowski leads the team with 29 strikeouts.


Stealing Extra Bases The SLO Rattlers are 28 for 35 in stealing extra bases this year. Nigel Morton has the most stolen bases with seven. Six players are perfect when it comes to stealing extra bases.

Rattlers on a Roll The hits continue to come for the Rattlers. Scott Phillion has the longest hitting streak on the team at seven games. Scott Phillion recorded a hit in every game from June 13 to June 23. Davey Schultz and Tommy White have the second longest hitting streaks at five games. Davey Schultz recorded a hit in every game from June 1 to June 5 in his first five game hitting streak and recorded a hit in every game from June 30 to July 12 in his second five game hitting streak. Tommy White recorded a hit in every game from June 6 to June 13.

It Takes Two‌ The Rattlers have turned fourteen double plays this year. On June 13, in the second game of the doubleheader against Team Vegas Baseball Club, the Rattlers turned three double plays.

Searching for the Cycle Joe Etcheverry and Zach Steele have been the only two players this year to come close to hitting for the cycle. They were both a home run shy of the cycle on June 29 at the SLO Blues.

Outfield Goes the Distance Davey Schultz threw out a Santa Maria Pilots runner at home trying to score from second on July 12. ###
